*** The Official Samsung Galaxy S6/Edge Thread ***

BTW, the default in MM is to have fast charging disabled (god knows why - it's one of the best features of the S6).

You can re-enable it in the battery settings.

I don't have this. Do you mean the status bar that shows the battery etc?

Is it possible you're using a theme. Or maybe a white wallpaper (might be hard to see the white icons)

My bad, it was actually a feature in Nova Launcher called "dark icons". :o

Installed the XEF marshmallow version. Did a cache wipe after (this doesn't delete anything on your phone) although this might actually be done as part of the upgrade process.
Anyway, everything is tickety boo. Phone is a bit smoother and faster (fingerprint scan is definitely quicker).
It's funny how you wait in anticipation for the new android version and once you get it, it's a bit of an anticlimax. It hasn't rocked your world in the way you thought it would (what the heck was I expecting?!??)

It's a decent update, few more options on the camera software and generally a bit smoother.

No complaints, but long overdue.

Has anyone else experienced this problem on the s6 and have a solution. If I search for something on the internet it will just hang. If I turn off the mobile internet antenna and turn it back on web pages will load instantly. This doesn't happen on WiFi.

I thought maybe there might be some spyware or viruses but I have scanned using a couple of different programs with no luck.

Any ideas?

Thanks for the replies. Hopefully the UK sim free version comes out soon. Are there any other interface tweaks which are worth while? Any battery improvements?

I'm not sure why I am bothering to be honest as I think I will definitely get the S7 Edge - the battery life, curved back and camera are worth it alone IMHO.

Samsung make good hardware but are pretty shocking when it comes to software updates :(

If they got rid of touchwiz it would probably speed up the process and make the phone better. Can they not see this??

Doubt it would make any difference to marshmallow on the Galaxy S6, just as smooth as my Pixel C.

Touchwiz is being refined with every version and right now I don't see any issues with performance.

No real issues performance wise, but I just don't like touchwiz as much as vanilla android.

And there is no doubt that having to add in touchwiz slows down the release of every iteration of android to Samsung phones.

It does indeed slow down the process of updates, but I guess you have to go into the purchase of a samsung phone with your eyes open. If you wanna buy a samsung phone and all the good things that that entails, then you need to expect slow updates. This has been the case now for many years and it's still surprising the amount of people who buy the phone knowing this and then complain (I'm not saying you are one of these people!).

Personally, I don't really think it should be incumbent upon manufacturers to update the software at all (bugs notwithstanding). If the phone works as advertised when I got it then I'm happy enough.

I guess they view it as a competitive advantage in a market where phones and the operating system are becoming increasingly similar.

Flashed fxuu on mine last night, got fed up of waiting for the sim free version.

What a lovely smooth rom, super fast fingerprint scanner.

Anyone found a good case for the S6? I've had mine since launch but haven't found a case I like. As the back is glass, the S6 occasionally falls out of my hand. I need to get a case as I think it'll smash/crack the glass soon.

I use a nillkin slim one. Has very little bulk and probably no protection but gives the back some grip
