**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S7/Edge Thread ****

It is a lovely phone, there are a couple of things I miss from the HTC M8 that I am coming from like the Boom sound speakers, IR blaster, MHL support (will get a chromecast) and the dual LED flash/torch which is superb on HTC, but I still love this S7e. That AMOLED is just stunning and the huge battery is superb.

Havent really played with the camera much yet but what I have seen is impressive, the focus speed is ridiculous.

I have put a Samsung Evo+ 128Gb SD card in and copied Real Racing 3 to it so no adoptable storage support is not an issue. I have not experienced any lag or RAM issues as yet but its still to early to say.

Gear VR is an excellent taster of what the future will bring but i have only had a very brief play with it at this point.

Transfering my data, contacts, apps etc from the HTC was very quick and easy.

Fingerprint scanner is fast enough, I ran Antutu bench also and got a score of 128k.

All in all its a big thumbs up from me so far!
 
Need some advice lads, just got the delivery of my Samsung S7 edge and as expected the box was wrapped in plastic wrapping but when i took it off the seal was broken on the box.

I've done the obvious checks on everything that's in the box and phone seems fine. Other than checking IMEI etc is there anything else you would check and would you guys consider complaining and returning it for another ?

I wouldn't be happy with that, any signs of the phone being handled when you opened it?

Was it opened to put the SIM inside the box?

Parcelforce are sending me on a rollercoaster of emotion...

Attempted delivery at 11am, said it would be returned to post office or depot

Got home from work and it had updated to say it was at local post office

Rushed to Royal Mail depot by mistake (d'oh), they kindly checked and said it had been returned to the PF depot

Rushed to PF depot, the guy at reception said it should be there, went to look for it, couldn't find it and said it has probably been loaded for re-delivery

Went home, called PF and the lady in the call centre said it had been signed for at Giddings Road post office...did a google and that came up as PF depot in Manchester (where I;d just been). She said it wasn't the depot, it was a different address and then put me through to the depot itself

Lovely lady from the depot has realised that it was probably in the secure area as it is a phone which is why the guy at reception couldn't find it...waiting on a phone call to say that she's found it so I can rush back there now!

Just collected mine from the Vodafone store with Gear VR, all seals still in place.
The Vodafone online order tracker says stage 2 still. I got 4 texts messages one after the other saying ready for collection in store though after I called Vodafone on 191. Whether that helped or not I don't know.

Now to open and start playing :-)

No everything was outside the box.

Picture below. The screen protector that's on it has a line going across it. No physical damage underneath but someones definitely touched it..... hmmm

Well I've heard nothing from them, still says out for delivery but guessing it's not coming now.

Wouldn't be happy with that at all, best to get on the phone and tell them it's been tampered with.

Cheers yeah on the blower now.

edit: The o2 guy says that they've had quite a few complaints today from customers saying that their seals had been broken. He said that i can get an immediately replacement so i thought that i might as well. DPD are out tomorrow to exchange the phone so i'm happy with that. Was cheeky and asked what i could get for my inconvenience, he knocked a tenner off my next bill :P. Happy with the way it was handled. At least i get the night to play with it then package it up again.

Yeah the edge is weird, makes look amazing though.
I didn't get the vr as I'm with EE, is it worth getting?

yeah most of the content is really blurry like really low quality , transferred a few movies which are 1080p its much better but still can see the pixels , its a great experience the cinema the way the lighting changes with movie and the chairs next to you, but dont think i will be using it, its like a first taste or be it a test , but i can see this being really amazing when the resolution improves, isnt the oculus rift 2k inbuilt screens ?
