**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S7/Edge Thread ****

Nope, Samsung! Hence why I was surprised as I understood VoLTE to be supported on network provided handsets as it needed a firmware from them as well as an app installed.

This is what I thought the case was, I really want VoLTE as I tend too talk too the misses during travels and H is really slow when your used too 4G. Interesting, it could be Three not needing anything special.

I also bought my S7E direct from Samsung, and am on a 3 SIM - quite often see the VoLTE when I am at home (Dorset) but not noticed when at work (London)

Don't know if that's accurate because in Ilford I was seeing VoLTE and I was on 4G at the time. Stock sim free S7E.

Does your phone actually stay on 4G when you make a call?

It was my understanding that 3 only supported VoLTE on the 800MHz band and they only let you onto the 800MHz band if you can't get any other type of signal.

If your phone doesn't stay on 4G when you're on a call then it's not actually using VoLTE.

Excuse my ignorance but why would it matter how fast your internet is when you're on a call?

The main reason for VoLTE is it's more efficient for the networks, they can handle more calls per mast and such.

It will also eventually, once most phones support VoLTE let the networks refarm some of their spectrum currently used for 2G/3G to be used for 4G.

There's times where you might want fast data when talking, Google Maps navigation in the car whilst talking hands free for example.

It moves like 1px per second or something, basically it won't dart about the screen like it did as standard.

Ooh that's great, might give it another try in that case, that's the main reason I switched it off. Still needs to show notifications for 3rd party apps, and personally I'd rather have it just display when I pick up the phone (sometimes on display?), but still a decent update.

Galaxy S7 and S7 edge Now Available in Pink Gold

Samsung Electronics has released Pink Gold editions of the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, bringing the total of available colors for the devices to five. Debuting in Korea on April 20, the Pink Gold Galaxy S7 and S7 edge will soon be available for customers in select markets.

Pink Gold was chosen as it, like the other colors available for the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, is a natural color that provides a sense of comfort. These hues glitter and shimmer as if illuminated from inside their glass surfaces.

In particular, the refined Pink Gold color scheme is intended to soothe and incorporate a touch of gentleness, radiance and sophistication to the smartphones’ design.

As well as Pink Gold, the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge are available in a choice of Black Onyx, Gold Platinum, White Pearl and Silver Titanium.

Why do I, more often than not, keep getting this when I try to open the phone using my finger print:

"enter pin instead of using fingerprint recognition because of security policy"
