**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S7/Edge Thread ****

Here's how Nougat looks on a tailored S7 edge with Nova Launcher, custom icons and Material Dark theme.

Many little things I like in N:

- The auto reconnect setting for saved wifi networks is nice, I don't always want to connect to my work wifi, but then again I don't want to have to turn wifi off either, so having an SSID not auto reconnect when in range is handy.

- Double tapping the task switcher capacitive button to immediately cycle between last two apps is handy.

- The phone app has been overhauled for the better, easier to view contact cards and do tasks with them now from the main list itself.

- Split and multiwindow has been given a big boost, it's much quicker, it's also totally free-form for floating windows. Not all apps support split/multi-window, though. Those apps need to be updated. I don't know who said that Android N allows any app to multi-window...

- Fingerprint sensor has become faster, this has been commented on at numerous online sources now, so isn't a placebo thing.

- Ending a call shows a better thought out end of call screen to do tasks with.

Various other things too, not ventured everything just yet. Screen capture has received a welcome feature bump, you can now draw annotations in addition to what you could do before (crop etc).

Overall, everything is tip-top. I'm expecting my battery life to improve now since I'm running with condensed DPI at 1080P as opposed to the fixed 1440P that is on MM.

Sounds promising. I'm now starting to get a little concerned seeing as I still don't have it...

*snip*

Why do you have the material dark theme listed 6 times!?

- Missed the WiFi thing, thats handy!
- The double tap task switcher is one of the main things I missed moving from my 6P with 7.0, so glad its back.
- Glad it wasn't me imagining it then, the FP scanner feels much better.

For some reason it remembered the dark theme from MM, but if you search for a Material theme in the new Themes app, then it won't find anything as they are incompatible. So if you had a Material theme installed before, don't get rid of it, so you can apply it on the beta.

Don't know why it's listed 6 times, guess it's one of the "incompatibility" bugs.

Ah fair enough, yeah mine was from before as well. I shall keep it!

Did you find your display was set to 1080p after the upgrade too? Rather than 1440p?

Yup, I guess normal mode is pre-defined for 1080P, and performance is 1440P (it switches to 1440 in Performance mode).

Makes perfect sense, as combined with small dpi scaling, 1080P is perfect.

Yep noticed that, I'll leave it at 1080p for now, see how the battery performs.

Performance mode is just 1440p and max brightness right? No other changes? Seems... Pointless?

Noticed wifi calling is not there in call settings ?

I see it here (EE) Dialer>Settings, at the bottom.

They know what you're doing anyway, no need to "provide" it wilfully :p

The old version of quickpic keeps randomly crashing, you can use it, but when you go back to exit, it crashes randomly. Guess it's an app issue as it's the re-signed non bloat version I installed.

Got it: For Beta Feedback run the Samsung Members App if not already installed:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.samsung.android.voc&hl=en_GB

You will then get this showing on the Beta app:
