**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S7/Edge Thread ****

Am I the only one who prefers Action Launcher to Nova Prime? Can't quite put my finger on why though, if I'm honest.

Does anyone have a problem with the S7E hanging up when someone rings.

Scenario: Phone rings - I hear it, I go to pull it out my pocket, and am greeted by the home screen and call has ended.

I assume its because the screen lights up and is registering me touching it (with my leg or finger) and hanging up.

Really annoying.

I don't have any of the settings in the dialer enabled for answering or hanging up.

Presume you have a screen lock active (while in your pocket)?

1. Not sure, I don't use the edge stuff much.
2. Nova Launcher Prime and Tesla Unread, not free but well worth it. Just a better launcher in all.
3. In the settings. General > Default action.

Thanks for this but I dont appear to have a "general" section in settings, and looked under a few options and couldnt find default action either will have a closer look when I get home

Phone arrived..whoo hoo.

Not sure if I imagined this or not, but could have sworn there was a handy setting that you could set up the phone to behave one way when you arrived at work ( turn to silent etc) , then when leaving would swap back to normal?

Matte is too plain and shows scratches easily though, even fingernails mark it, so will make the phone look worse with time.

I have not had the hyperblack yet, maybe with the Galaxy S8 :)

I've got the HyperBlack. I like it. Sort of brushed metal. I'll try and sort some pics out tomorrow if you'd like.

Anyone else had the first N update err, update? Installing now.

Would be good to see pics :)

I've set the Samsung Nougat SMS app as default for now and set aside Textra to see what it's like, I notice they've made some changes to the UI and settings, for the better it would seem. If this is a sign of things to come, I think I'll be uninstalling Textra soon.

Tried a few dbrand skins for the S7e, got to say this is the best one so far imo.

Definitely worth a try, great value for money too imo.

Is the S8 next on the radar then mrk? :p

Mine looks like that, so there you go. :) Except mine doesn't have the sticker on the camera because someone shamed me into taking it off.... :p

Wasn't me :p

S8 sounds mighty tempting with every rumour that comes out. I can't see any other brand releasing anything of interest. Sony are lost in their own misty world, perhaps they don't even know what they're doing? HTC are following the direction Blackberry are sobbing themselves into, and Moto are a bit of a mixed bag, with LG still not playing ball with customer issues.

Nokia might be worth waiting for, they have just confirmed they are releasing Android phones in 2017, and previous rumours pointed to IPX ratings, SD card slot, AMOLED displays and other flagship features. If it's the difference of a couple months, then maybe I'll wait longer, but I like the Mi Mix also, and if the S8 has that sort of edge to edge display, then I'd rather go that route.

Hmm interesting with the news about Nokia/Android.

If they do come with SD/AMOLED display it will be very tempting.

Having said that, the S7e is still performing solid as day one for me, which is quite surprising to be honest.

Think I'll just wait for 2018 for the next upgrade :D

Il remind you of this post when the S8 is out mate, :D
