Is it still the case Samsung are going a new UI direction on this? Now that I'm stuck on the Z5, I might skip this year I'm figuring unless the SD820 gains are very worthwhile.

Wouldn't be so sure.
That site import database had the Huawei Nexus listed at 5.5" when it was actually 5.7"
I think we'll see the S7 and S7 Edge at 5.1" and the Edge+ at 5.7"

Got an upgrade due in May, currently have the S5.

Not really tech minded with mobiles, would an S7 be a decent upgrade from the S5. I did look at a friends S6 at the weekend and the build quality was signifcantly better than the S5.

Last upgrade I did was the S2 to the S5 and it was worlds apart. Still prefer the smaller size of the S2 tbh tho

No-one knows yet for sure and we won't really know until unpacked. I have high hopes this time after skipping the 5.

In terms of upgrades for S7 over the S5...

1. Faster and smoother
2. Much better camera
3. Fast charging
4. 10x better build and perceived quality
5. Improved screen

Loads of rumours and artist impressions. I really hope it is a good one. I would like the edge version even if it means laying out a few extra quid to start with. Loads of sites are saying that unpacked will be next month and the phone will be available in March/April. I'm due my upgrade in April so I'm hoping it's out by then.

The S820 chipset loses on multi-core performance (it's a quad-core), but it does win the single-core fight - 2,282 for the S820 and 1,873 for the 8890 chipsets.

Nice - it's all about the single core performance which all apps make the most of.

I think the UK models are more likely to get the Exynos chip.

Based on the S6's performance I don't think there will be anything wrong with the updated Exynos in the S7 though.

I'm mainly hoping that the rumours of MicroSD support, improved low light camera and improved battery life are true.
