**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S7/Edge Thread ****

Doesn't it **** you off that we are all here waiting (im)patiently for our shiny new devices, meanwhile people have had them early and post videos of them smashing it to bits with a lump hammer or dunking it in liquid nitrogen.

Tecrax?

That kid infuriates me, yet, I still find myself watching his content

Mine is still showing the same awaiting stock but in the notes section its saying.

05/03/2016 Sent email - Samsung Upgrade Programme - order ***-***-*** shipped

What's the deal here then, the ever popular Samsung ram management, Touchwiz or the 820 worse off compared to the Exynos variant? Should be an interesting comparison with both chips once the Europeans start getting theirs.

So the exynos fares better than the 820? I'm okay with that seeing as us euros get the exynos variant :D

Unless I'm missing something I don't think it says the exynos runs better, just that the 820 doesn't fare well, not that this is necessarily down to the 820.

Just now ordered an s7 edge and VR headset through CPW:
£49.99 up front, £37.49 a month for unlimited calls and sms, 5GB data
Delivery on Weds cos I'm working away on Tues.

Should be a decent upgrade over my current OnePlus One.

Not gonna complain about QC2.0, it's fast enough to make do until the next gen of flagships for sure.

Wireless fast charging is where it's at anyway.

Note 6 will have it I bet.

Also, been playing with an S6 Edge today and with the Material Dark theme on the Theme Store. I found it really good the way it tweaks the entire phone's UI to confirm to Material design visually.

Can't wait to get it installed on the S7 next week. Can't even tell it's a Samsung phone using the theme.

Looks like Exynos is the better SoC so we are better off.

- Not as hot running.
- 20% multi core gain.
- 9% single core loss.
- 45% charge in 30 minutes.
- 8hrs screen on time (rough) which ties in with the Russian post hinting at 10hrs screen time.

Not as hot running in comparison to 820? Have we got any actual direct comparisons yet? Not seen any.

I know that Ananadtech were not impressed with Exynos 8s power consumption and noticed heat when they played with it.

Yes he has 51% left but doesnt mean hes definitely guaranteed 8 hours, so many factors that influence that.
But battery does indeed look much better than S6.

Played with one briefly today seemed alright.

question regarding firmware.

When my S7 Edge arrives from Voda i'm assuming it'll have all the crap that comes with Voda firmware attached.

Could i reinstall the stock firmware from Samsung to get rid of it all???
