**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S7/Edge Thread ****

That's great news indeed! Hopefully a healthy bump in battery life should be coming our way in addition to Marshmallow's improvements.

Slightly off-topic, but I suspect Samsung are doing what they normally do and holding back the mainstream Marshmallow updates for the S6/S6 Edge (outside of South Korea) until after they launch the S7.

It looks like Samsung is finally pushing the boat out now its back is up against the wall.

Every year they would hold back with features. Now we get sd card, waterproofing, big battery and the rest all in one package.

Well if all this is true, and the Exynos chip goes head to head with SD820 for spec and performance/efficiency, then I may come back to Samsung.

Yeah its like they are finally relenting and releasing the "perfect" phone. Perfect if it wasn't for sammy software instead of vanilla android but hey ho... Can't have it all.

Anyone else's hype building? Or are you keeping it reserved ? :p I don't think I've been hyped like this for a phone before. This has the potential to be something special. Should we expect wireless charging too ?

Should we expect wireless charging too ?

You would think so, it would be strange for them to take a step back on wireless charging since they pushed it quite a bit as a feature in the advertising for the S6 even though a wireless charger wasn't an official bundled accessory apart from some retailers.

I wonder if they'll announce Samsung Pay for the UK also? Q1 2016 was the launch date or so I heard and we're already half way through the quarter.

Not sure if I'll go for the S7, I need to stop buying all the latest gadgets as I'm supposed to be saving for a house. Although the rumoured extra battery life is a big selling point as that's the only thing I'm not exactly happy about with the S6.

I quite like the idea of going for titanium/silver this time round. For the S6 Edge I initially had a 64GB in gold and then upgraded to the 128GB in white.

There was a mention in a Samsung press conference today that Samsung pay is coming to Europe 'Early 2016'.
Owning an S6 and having a number of issues with it (Battery life, bluetooth, standard stuff) I'd be interested in this when it comes out if it lives up to its already high expectations. Whether I change or not is going to boil down to the handset only price. If it chases the stupid prices it charged at release last year then I think it will struggle again

The leaks certainly make this look like a nice attractive phone. I really hope that the prices are not too silly. I don't mind paying a few extra quid for the edge version but I don't like the look of the packages Three are now doing to the S6. My current contract gives me unlimited calls, texts and data. There is a 2gb limit on tethering. Last year's ones show limited data allowances and increased costs.

The thing is, my Sony Z2 is still a great phone. It still powerful enough for everything and well equipt. It seems phones as well as PCs, may possible have reached a bottleneck.

I do have to have the latest tech though and the mic on the sony has always been a bit crap.
