I think you'll be in a lifelong cycle, by the time the S8 is out there will be speculation about the next Note 8 etc etc.

If VR experience is what you're after then I'd wait for the S8, but the same logic applies really.

This is excellent news for me as my S6 contract runs outs a the end of Jan, so hopefully I wont have long to wait for the S8!

yeah, as said - there's always something new coming out, but the S8 has new specs, where as the note7 is just a different phone on the same year old specs (2 years old by s8 release)... so the choice is form or substance... I have a feeling I should go for the substance as newer technology will be based on it... but what to do between now and then?

Due an upgrade for my S6 in Jan but will only bother for a significant battery life upgrade as that is the worst thing about the S6 - Charge my phone 3 or 4 times a day

3-4 times a day I may have to charge halfway through the day during heavy use, but up to 4 times a day seems a bit much.

I didn't actually have an order but I had decided to buy myself a Note 7 after giving the iphone 7/7+ consideration now I'm thinking of holding off for this, tbh still happy with my s6 so waiting is no bother.

I wouldn't get a Lumia,you will want to install some random app only to discover it's not in the app store.

Snapchat / Youtube / Instagram app which works and isn't in Beta / Facebook app which works / most other things.

My 2 year EE contract finishes in June, so I'll probably be staying with EE and replacing my S6 with the S8. I really hope they have a 4K screen to give super crisp focus to my first gen Gear VR, or I may even get the newer Gear VR. Really excited about that!

Rest assured - Samsung's cycle will always be around 12 months.

Similar position here for me - late July 2017 and also on EE. The S8 will have already come out and the Note 8 is around the corner.

I went from an S2 to an S4, then a Note 4. Loved the S-series, but loving the Note even more. So think I'll hold out for the 3(ish) months and get a Note 8.

S8 said to have a completely bezel free display, Snapdragon 830 of course.

@mrk particularly fun rumours there I hope they largely pan out they seem fairly feasible, I'd prefer the exynos version though.

I've read many comments asking where the front camera would go, well OLED is transparent when off, so there every possibility they could shut down an area at the top OLED array to reveal the camera behind.

I think it would be brilliant. The S7 edge already has some of the nicest and usable screen to bezel ratios there is and it looks so modern, like something you'd expect to see in a movie set in the not too distant future. Bezel free would be going beyond that.

Sharp have already shown off their R display panel in a 5.2" concept phone which has no bezels left, right or top, and the top corners are curved. So it's certainly possible right now I'd say.

Whatever it turns out to be, it's going to wipe the floor with the Pixel I bet

how do you hold a bezel free phone? people already have issues with the edge phones.
