I'm sold. If I had the S7e I probably wouldn't but from S6e I'm due upgrade anyway. 699 was about the same as the s6 edge at release to be fair, and you're getting the AKG earbuds included which are about £80 on their own . Bibby looks useful too. Now, do I ring three and upgrade online or look for a TCB offer.

The rear position is not the problem, it is the positioning of the fingerprint scanner, having it in the top area of the phone and right beside the camera lens is idiotic placement.

I can't wait to see all these lovely blurry/smudgy photos/videos now :D
 
It's shipping with 7.0 and not 7.1.x, that's a bit of a kick to the teeth.

I'm on the fence. I want to see what this new "Essential Phone" that Andy Rubin has been creating is all about, as well as Pixel 2.

If I knew that the Pixel 2 will be waterproof, I would definitely wait.

Couldn't agree more about 7.0 :(

Hopefully the pixel 2 won't have these pointless curved screens. Have to say the blue does look nice but really not keen on the glossy look. Bring on matte finishes!

I will be very surprised if the pixel 2 isn't water proof as google said they wanted the pixel 1 to be water proof but they couldn't get it as well as having the camera of their choice or/and down to time and money/cost.

Well the other problem with the Pixel is that Google don't really make any. You cannot get the Pixel 1 from their store for love nor money :(

EDIT: Apparently the S8 uses the same camera sensor as the S7. That's a bummer.

Why is it? Its a better phone camera than any other phone I have tried, which includes iphones, Google Pixel etc.
 
I've seen reports that preorders get a free gear VR and some other stuff, but can't find any evidence of the offer in the U.K., though CPW have a bundled speaker.

Is this a US-only offer? Not sure why you'd rush to pay top dollar for the phone if there's no incentive. Might as well wait a few weeks for the resellers to start undercutting each other.
