The 'Official' Screenshot & Tips thread 4 FSX enthusiasts & flight simmers.

Hi guys, long time FSX user, hope to post some screenshots/videos here.

Welcome along...

On the back of the P3D news; who's going to start the "The 'Official' Screenshot & Tips thread 4 P3D v2.0 enthusiasts & flight simmers". :p

It's Vatsim's 'Cross The Pond' event this weekend.

The Cross The Pond planning team are delighted to announce that bookings are now open for this years event which takes place on Saturday the 12th of October.

Departure Airports:
Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport - KATL
Boston Logan International Airport - KBOS
Detroit Metropolitan Airport - KDTW
Washington Dulles International Airport - KIAD

Arrival Airports:
Frankfurt/Main Airport - EDDF
London Heathrow Airport - EGLL
Amsterdam Schiphol Airport - EHAM
Vienna International Airport - LOWW

Cross The Pond is the busiest event in the Vatsim calendar. It offers high quality ATC from your start to finish. Both Shanwick and Gander will be fully staffed as will all the enroute sectors.

For those who have a Vatsim account and never used it or don't know what to say etc, it's well worth sitting in a plane in the GA bit of an airfield and tuning your radios in to hear what's going on. ATC should be plentiful and very busy. You can use the excellent Vattastic website to see what's going on.

Every man and their dog will probably be flying the 777-200.

For those who are about, I can probably do a domestic lunchtime flight on Saturday and pretty flexible on Sunday.

It's a pity its only on Saturday, I'm away for the day.

I should be around Sunday Evening though so hopefully we can get that T7 flight in or fly something else.

I think we need to wait and see first, never a good idea to jump on the band wagon when the wagon has not even got out of the garage yet.

But still, it does look a viable option and hopefully a decent improvement over the now very old FSX, especially if most things we bought for FSX will be transferable.

P3D + DX11 + Multithread support + 64Bit + Occulus Rift = I will never get off my PC again :).

PMDG wont move to P3D unless its EULA is changed to allow use of its program as a piece of entertainment software.

Now im sure LM would love to offer P3D as a piece of entertainment software but it will be MS which wont allow them to issue entertainment licenses. PMDG would have to go down the route of becoming training software developers, compared to Flightism Developers.

There is a lot of threads about P3d and its licinsening arrangements, and on why PMDG dont do cross platform work.

The only hope I hold for P3d, is that MS have an agreement that says, any updates you make for this, have to made available for FSX, but I to like ****ing into the wind.

The more I read about this, I actually don't think we will see PMDG products on P3D. I think with them licensed to Boeing etc, its not going to be easy to change the EULA's.

I guess I might have to dig out my FSX to P3D tool again.

Any of you lot got a Saitek AV8-R 02 working properly on FSX (Windows 8)? I have FSUIPC but can't quite understand it. I know my trigger button seems broken but thats ok (and I know the stick isn't great but it was cheap and I just wanted to try with an analogue before shelling out any real cash).

Any help much appreciated.

Did you need help setting up the registered version of FSUIPC? It's a little tricky, but after defining one axis and one button configuration, it makes more sense.

cuffylad, did you join CIX Club or do you still need that guide I said I'll do (and haven't yet)..

I joined the club mate, tbh I have not really had chance to fly with them or anything since joining as my time has been very limited the past few weeks :(

I'm hoping to get a lot more free time next week though :D

FSLabs have not ruled themselves out of P3D, and nor have they confirmed they will develop. They have made it clear they want to make a version of the A320-X that will be aimed at commercial training - my own guess would be that it would be for P3D. I don't know anything about the devs plans right now.

As for the A320-X, keep holding it on because it'll be worth the wait... *whistles*

We're very conscious of the latest developments surrounding P3D - it is something we have been following attentively. Once we have had an opportunity to evaluate the platform (P3Dv2), we'll be in a better position to make some decisions.

Here's a couple of screenshots we've released this week showing our latest work on the aircraft models.

Good to hear that FSLabs are keeping their ear to the ground in regards to future sim development, at least that leaves the door open for future possibilities.

Also, your team is doing some fantastic work on your latest project. The aircraft model and texture is looking really good in those shots. I cannot wait to get my hands on her and give her a proper screen shot treatment.

In the meantime, enjoy this latest batch of unedited screen shots this time showing off A2A's P-51 Mustangs:

It's the Flight 1 Open Day this Saturday in Wolverhampton. The museum opens at 10am, so I'm guessing that's the time it starts.

I'll be heading up from Swindon to arrive for 10am, unfortunately by car, not a light aircraft or private jet.

I'll then leaving just before 4pm to get back home for a family event.

I haven't been on Vatsim for ages. I've been learning to fly the Dash-8, 777 and A320 offline. All very impressive.

I used up the last of the 'old system' Navigraph credits to update the Cycle for my fleet.

I'm down to <700 MB on my FSX SSD.

See you at the show!

I was going to post something today about the show and ask what time you getting up there. I'm hoping to get up there around the same time. Leaving a little extra early because of the brilliant London traffic. :p

Left it too late for a landing slot so driving too ;)

I've not done too much on Vatsim too, mainly been flying the Dash and had my best landing yesterday, -231fpm so happy with that.

See if you can get on mumble later and exchange numbers for saturday mate?
