The 'Official' Screenshot & Tips thread 4 FSX enthusiasts & flight simmers.

GA - General Aviation. Many airfields will have a flying school and probably a flying club. The members of the club will own or, via a sharing arrangement, have access to smaller aircraft and either do their own thing or fly in group organised events.

The CIX VFR Club tries to emulate that club spirit within Vatsim. Fly anything from an ultra-light to a personal jet. Main restriction is club aircraft must conform to EASA-CS23's definition of a Light Aircraft.

Sounds good, I have registered on there site and hopefully I will get to fly with them soon :D

Thanks

I'm holding off on any new FSX stuff until P3D 2.0 surfaces and the verdict is out. I think I was a bit too subtle in my last post but its apparently entered beta with a rumoured mid-Nov release date. There's also a rumoured list of improvements floating around somewhere (cant remember where I saw it off the top of my head), but I've not seen anywhere confirming if its legitimate or not.

Just read that there is a v2 beta out. I logged into my account and it doesn't give me an option for v2 only the last build.

Not sure how you get on the beta? Going to try see if I can sort something out.

Sim720 just launched their own in-house website and products.

Sim720 have previously done work for Orbx on the FTX UK regions, think they have also done some products for Aerosoft.

Oban Airport looks great, and their upcoming releases look very promising

http://flight.sim720.co.uk/

Quote from their new forum introducing their plans

SIM720 is pleased to announce itself as a supplier to the Flight Simulation market.

Who are we? Well the truth is we are simmers and gamers at heart. We are a group of friends and like-minded people who have come together to try to make a difference to the flight simulation community and ourselves. Some may have heard of us already; we have worked undercover for other publishers including Landclass development for England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland released by Orbx. We also developed some England airports for ORBX such as Goodwood, Shoreham, Shuttleworth (Old Warden), etc. However, we are more than just the engine for others and therefore we now also need our own identity in addition.

As individuals we believe we have come a long way. Some of our team have moved countries to work with us and join together as a group. Not bad for some friends with vision, motivation and ideas. We want to continue to make products of which we can be proud. We have set up our own website and forum and wish to encourage everyone to connect to us and everybody else in the true spirit of gamers. We may not please everybody all the time but we want our voices to be heard, we want our ideas to be seen, we want our visions to become a reality. Even more importantly we want to interact openly with people from all backgrounds, opinions and nations. We welcome hearing what everyone has to say; we are looking for all views and to have a healthy conversation regarding our passion, our livelihood and the flight simmer’s enjoyment.

From October 2013 SIM720 will be releasing its own airports. Our initial airport will be Oban in Scotland, UK. And to introduce ourselves to the community we are also making a free mission available for this airport. We would have course welcome and appreciate all views and comments via our forums on these products. We expect to launch many more products before the end of the year in places around the world including the Far East, USA and Europe as well as more in the UK. Some of these are announced on our website.

We also know how annoying it is to get a product that does not work with a simmer’s existing add-ons; that's why all our airport products will have their own control panel, which will allow customers to select their currently installed scenery files thus enabling SIM720 airports to work seamlessly with Microsoft FSX and Lockheed Prepar3d with compatible photoreal blending with Default FSX, Orbx Global, and where they exist Orbx Regions, Horizon and MegaSceneryEarth. They are also DX10 compatible. We are on the lookout for places lots of people want to fly to that are not the major airports, are fun, challenging or interestingly different.

We are active in several areas other than flight simulation software but will make this clear on our yet to be released general website. Our flight simulation website flight.sim720.co.uk is dedicated to flight simulation only so that is the place to catch up on SIM720 software sim developments.

I don't think its an open beta. I believe you have to be on the beta team to receive it. However if you do have some string to pull, I'm all ears!

There's a quote on the Avsim forums supposedly form the LM website saying that the beta license will expire on 1st Nov, which I think is what people are basing their educated guesses of a mid Nov release date on!

I've seen some footage from the P3D v2.0 beta from a credible....if slightly less than legitimate source....and the improvements looks vast.

This particular person was running Orbx FTX SAK, REX 2048 clouds and textures, as2012 and flying the NGX; at about 3000ft flying over Aerosofts Anchorage X with ALL sliders maxed he was getting around 50fps.

And his pc was nothing special...less powerful than mine infact.

P3D 2.0 looks like its going to be something very special to us FSX pilots, after seeing this leaked footage it has certainly whetted my appetite for 2.0...LM can name their price as far as I'm concerned and it shall be getting bought!

p.s. the VC shadows and lighting effects looked spectacular :D
