The 'Official' Screenshot & Tips thread 4 FSX enthusiasts & flight simmers.

For the NGX pilots the new Service Pack 1 is now available. Haven't installed it yet myself.

Apparently the 600/700 is available too!

Yea it's pretty slow to load once you have a few addons.

I had to move mine off my SSD as my FSX install is now pushing 80GB! Performance is fine in game but things like loading REX themes is so slow now :(

On an unrelated note i got a £15 amazon voucher and decided to pickup Flight Simulator for Pilots: Real World Training which is absolutely fantastic for pilots like me who want to do things semi-realistic but didn't have a clue how to!

Does this book ask you to setup certain flight sequences? Does it come with some missions? Or does it use the lessons from FSX?

Thanks :)

Yea there is ready made flights you can download from http://www.wiley.com/WileyCDA/WileyTitle/productCd-0764588222,descCd-DOWNLOAD.html which are all setup with the correct weather\wind and locations.

The book then walks your through the various lessons.

EDIT: Great vid nate, need to get back into A-10c after brushing up my basic flight skills recently :)

Thanks for the enb config! Haven't put it to use yet, trying to find time to settle down and have a fly!

Does anyone know of a Virtual Airline that would suit me? I used to use my friends which no longer exists but upon googling it seems VA's are a bit too strict, i'm looking for one where I don't have to fly all the time, a more casual one. I just enjoy doing realistic flights with the map that tracks it and the statistics..

Any ideas?

Is there an OCUK Virtual Airline? A kind of loose, but professional 70s style airline that won't work to a schedule, but get passengers to their destination via a positive, life changing experience. The boarding music would be bossanova funk. The plane's microprocessors would be overclocked. The stewardesses would be fit-as. It would be a non-stop party in the sky.

I've looked around and joined Fly Uk as it seems to know what its doing, although I wish it had more flights, I was hoping to do Stansted to Lubeck germany or Stansted to Newquay, which are flybe and ryanair flights but neither of their respective VA's had those flights so I just went back to Fly UK as it looked the best..

I looked at BA virtual but it seemed a bit too strict for me, just the signup page scared me, i'm not a member of VATSIM and I don't really want to fly online yet.

Do wish their were more flights though!

You don't need to fly online in BA Virtual. In fact I have just flown online once or twice. There is an entrance test which some people may find difficult. You can only fly real BA routes in the proper aircraft which I think is what way a VA should work. The idea is to model the real world counterpart as closely as possible.

Hell i'll give it a go then, nothing to lose, although i'm not a member of VATSIM or IVAO yet, suppose i'll join one of those!

I'm with http://www.ryrvirtual.com/

Great scheduling/booking system they have in place, although the management seem to be AWOL at the moment so there are growing concerns unfortunately!

I must have looked at a different Ryanair virtual, because this one seems just right, has Hamburg lubeck too!

Man, entry test for Ryvirtual has me so confused, I don't know half of this yet ! :P

Well I cheated on most, but its how you learn right? :p

Seems by the virtual BA that there's a massive waiting time with applications, oh joy! Lets hope Ryvirtual get back to me soonish.. Looks good apart from their fleet only having one type of aircraft!

The latest Computer Pilot mag is free to all to download

http://www.computerpilot.com/

it includes an article about Prepar3D along with a coupon for a 1 month free trial offer (at the bottom of page 37)

For those that don't know Prepar3d is an onward development of ESP which was Microsoft's commercial offering derived from FSX.

I've been trying to figure out the Autogen annotator and starting to place trees in my local area, proving confusing but should be good once done..

I'm so so tempted to get an Earth simulations add on.. I just got my loan/grant after it being very late... I know its for my degree but its so tempting, help.

Enjoy these mixture of unedited and edited shots of PMDG's 747 with McPhat's HD liveries.

Nice shots as always Soya.
FSX looks so nice with payware.
I feel I am lucky to have found the enjoyment of this sim at about the right time a few months ago.

As PC's are now powerful enough if you have the funds to run it at good FPS maxed out with lots a AI traffic.

I am still building up my collation of payware & waiting on the new Intel CPU coming out next year then I will start flying more at the moment I am just sightseeing & plane spotting :D

As my CPU is letting me down at the moment.
