*** The Official Sony Ericsson Satio Thread ***

I so like this phone, but i haven't found any proper reviews.

All I google is the old previews :( Are people just taking a leap of faith pre-ordering with the 24 mth lock in?

oh my, as a SE fanatic and wont have anything else but SE phones this seems perfect, but ill wait a bit till we get more hands on reviews and peoples opinions.

I doubt you will be disappointed! If you are, theres always suicide :p

Gonna phone vodaphone tomorrow and see how the hell I add insurance to the account  :p

Im sure I'll like it. Been waiting for this phone since the announment. Im just glad its free on the long contract, unlike the iPhone.

Let us know about the insurance. I'll deffo need insurance cover for this phone.

For insurance you have to phone customer care, after you recieve the phone :) and sort it out like that. They said it would be £6.99 per month, although you can have it for as long as you want as far as I know, so you dont have to have it for the duration of the phone contract.

Having watched a few videos on YouTube of this, I'm rather liking the look of it. Interface isn't quite as smooth as that on the HTC Hero, for example, but it's far nicer than the N97. Doesn't look as basic or clunky.

Just tested this last week and I was not very impressed to be honest.
Its very uncomforable to hold for longer durations and the camera isnt all that amazing considering the 12 MP. And the OS.. well, its the same crap as usual. Also a lot of screen flicker, but thats probably cuz its not the final HW.

Its basically a camera with a built in phone etc. But dont expect any outstanding pictures.

Don't think many people are giving it a fair chance, all the videos and models you have seen unless officaly demonstrated by Sony Ericson, are PRE Builds and not the final product. ;) It's still not officaly out until middle of next week.

Personally, I was very impressed when I saw a live demo. The UI and screen transitions were very smooth, no flicker or lag at all. It's got a lot more grunt than the N97.

Ive been watching a few preview videos on youtube about this phone. I think it looks pretty good. The only little bugs i could is you need to select between ether a standard phone layout for texting or a qwerty one. I wonder if this is just a pre production test problem. Other then that little niggle. All looks pretty good, it looks much slicker and snapper then a N97.

Love the idea of this phone but Symbian again? Didn't UIQ file for bankruptcy? Haven't really followed the phone market of late but now looking for something to replace my P910i and I can't get as excited as I would like about the iPhone to commit to a 18 month to 2 year contract.

Wonder if this phone will work with MyPhoneExplorer. Great freeware program. Would love to know what it's browsing/flash/Java support is like too.

It should have flash support iirc.

Ill update if i find any info or once the phone arrives next week :)

It uses the Webkit browser engine same as the iPhone. I like the fact it supports wifi.

I don't expect the camera on the phone to be on par with 12mp cameras due to the smaller optics. I'll be impressed if it gives similar results to 8-10mp cameras tho.
