** The Official Space Flight Thread - The Space Station and Beyond **

Why did they shut the Falcon engines down, surely to test the Dragon under stress it should separate when Falcons still pushing?

Is there an app for iOS that will allow me to point my phone to the sky to find where the International Space Station is?

Alexei Leonov - first man to get out of his spacecraft in orbit and womble around - has died. He was 85. Not a bad innings given the entertaining opportunities for death that spaceflight can offer.

He made a lot of paintings of his experiences one that stuck in my mind was one of the terrifying view out of the cockpit window during re-entry, like travelling into a blast furnace. Was quite the character too. RIP sir.

Will be interesting to watch if it happens, even though it's already happened 600+ years ago

Yeah it could happen tomorrow or anytime in the next million years or so, don't hold your breath.

50th Anniversary of Apollo 13 tomorrow

https://apolloinrealtime.org/13/ Cool link to follow in real time the full journey of the failed mission
I've been watching this all week. Apollo 13 is a great film but what it doesn't manage to put across is how long this mission actually was, as in a full seven days.

Just an hour or so to go until re-entry.

Mark your calendars!
