*****The Official SSX Thread*****

I assume the clothing boosts and boards etc may make quite a bit of difference, as you couldn't customise any of that in the demo to make up for it?

Yeah possibly, still seems pretty damn tough. I think the racing in this game is particularly tough, the gap between players seems to often be quite high. I'll have what I think is a good run and find out I'm 40 seconds behind the leader

Love the wingsuit races though, so addictive, just wish there were more.

On the demo (I don't have the full game at the moment) I found that it was best to pretty much avoid jumps as much as possible and jump off them early if you have to. You lose A LOT of time in the air and even going off the smallest jumps sets time back quite a bit.

Hmm, you can do a global event on the final challenge (the death zone) but it says you need a wingsuit and headlamp...yet it only gives me one equipment slot?

I did it with just the wingsuit, the dark section was a challenge :p Luckily I'd done it enough in the SP that I half knew a route!

It's been a while since I've wanted to hurl a controller down and claim that the game is cheating :)

Maybe that's a good thing!

Definately a good thing!

Games have got far to easy. SSX has the balance spot on. It can get very difficult, but never feel impossible. You can always 'see' what it is you need to do, its just getting it right thats the challenge.

I mean, how many of us have pressed a button and then imediately know it was a mistake and watched our character plow into a wall/snow drift/floor/etc. :D

This kind of game is very rare!

As you level up the characters you get more equipments slots.

Fyi I've got a custom global event running atm. I've added those whose psn ID I could find, if I missed you feel free to add me psn id: nightwoolf

Custom global events are a lot of fun but would love more players in them for bigger prize pools :D

I'll add you tomorrow nightwoolf, keen to get as many people playing this as possible. The global events should be quite fun if we can get enough of us :)

I wonder how high a level you have to be then, my highest is 7 (trying to get them all up to 6 before I stick with one)

My current 'you're an idiot' moment is boosting while pressing square or circle to butter...going over a small bump in the ground and immediately doing a super uber and bailing on the ground :p

It is very difficult, I'm still finishing a good 15-20 seconds off gold times in most races. Can't get the balance between tricking to get boost and staying on the ground yet. The only two races I've got really frustrated at are the last two in the story The Whiteout deadly descent is just unfair, you'll fly off into oblivion a million times, you have to learn the track basically to get down it successfully. Then the Death Zone isn't that hard a track but it's a long and varied track that you need to get damn near perfect to beat Griff.

Once you hit 7 you should have 2 Mod slots, I think once you hit 10 you get both gear slots. Currently only at 8 so not sure on that.

I'm not having trouble with the races. Finished world tour tonight and I'm quite high placed on the biggest trick it global event in the himalayas sitting with 33.5 mill in the Platinum bracket. Hoping once I get to level 10 if the event is still running I can push for that 75 mill and the Diamond bracket. Although if I manage to hold my position ill be cashing in over 550,000 credits heh.

Need to start working my way through the challenges in explore mode tomorrow.

Am I the only one who dislikes the rewind feature? it seems to take loads longer when you fall into the mist and die to rewind, it was loads better when it just put you back on the track

I like the rewind system now I'm used to it. In older games when it would reset you it could take quite a while and you would lose a lot of time. With rewind you can tell straight away if you've made a bad jump and begin to rewind within 1-2 seconds. Allowing you to get right back into it.

Personally tho rewind is just for learning the tracks and when your not going for scores. As to get the best times/trick scores you need to do it perfect without rewinds. Same goes for the deadly descents.
