Same happened with the first, i bought it based on trailers and it was fun for the first few months and then it got stale very quickly.

I'd say wait a few months to see what the general consensus is, but it's your money so you decide what you want to do with it.

Even if you got a few months out of it that's still good value for money lol

I go to the cinema it costs upwards of 20 quid for 120 mins :p

My total play time is 73:15:16 over those few months.

I've played more Base Command than the actual game.
 
Open beta starts on the 6th at 9am for us UK folks. If you've pre-ordered it you get access on the 4th.



 
Dunno about this, with the last game allowing third and first person views it seemed like you were at a disadvantage using first person mode sometimes. Seen plenty of people say a lot of the weapons were easier to use in third person as well. This one seems to maintain the variable viewpoints from the last game =/

Will give the demo a try anyway i suppose.
 
I still play the old Battlefront II on Steam and just noticed a 3GB+ update is available which seemed odd, it turns out multiplayer has been made functional again, no third party faff required.

That's awesome! Do you have issues joining any servers? It seems a little messed up for me at the moment.
 
If anyone has a spare beta key for PC I'd be very grateful, as I understand if you pre-ordered you got given an extra key. Cheers!
 
Just got my access key from amazon for today, downloading now. I hope it's a big improvement over the first. I just found it so bare-bones and shallow once the novelty wore off.

Got to admit, I was pretty stunned by the price too. I had actually contemplated buying it because, for all its faults, I generally enjoyed the first one, but there is no way that I am paying the prices they are asking for just a shooter.
