***The Official Starfield Thread*** (As endorsed by TNA)

Lets face it folks, this over hyped game is more than a little dissapointing ... shrugs

In your opinion.... I think its probably one of the best games i've played in 2-3 years easily. All opinion of course but i think it boils down to what people though the game would be rather than what it is.

Its fallout in space... and i love it.

Its not star citizen or any other wide open space sim and thank god it isnt.

Amd seem to love having their sponsored games running better on their competitors hardware :p

Was expecting better scaling from the 3d cache cpus tbph. Definitely going back to intel next time.

MRK should really buy that new system with a 7950x3d so he can get that massive......5% frame bump.

It kinda was hyped to be Star Citizen but done, rightly or wrongly that type of hype comparison is exactly what did Elite Dangerous Odyssey in! To be an "Elite Dangerous refugee" is a thing now in Star Citizen, ironically, and they call themselves that.

I've always said, this is not Star Citizen, its certainly not the new Star Citizen killer, i'll see a lot of you soon then...... :)

I think some are forgetting this is a huge budget game with huge hype and PR. All of which has resulted in a game that is at launch, single A not triple A. Maybe the missing As will materialise after some patching though. Is it worthy of at the minimum of its RRP as it stands right now? I don't think so one single bit. £25 is a good punt, nothing more in its current state. £65? give over we've been had.

Especially if you had no intention of playing it any time soon and ended up preordering it just before it got released

I know I will get my £40 worth with ease. Fallout in space baby!!

Oh and I just played a bit more of the game and noticed comical NPC bugs, and the vasco robot thing that stalks your every move also glitches out LMAO :D

What is vasco doing?

Then outside I watched an NPC do his best UFO tractor beam abduction rendition and float up to the glass roof:

And all NPC faces have no soul in their expressions, by comparison at least you can sense emotions and expressions on faces of NPCs on other games like Cyberpunk/Ratchet etc!

Some areas do look nice, although all of this lighting is static baked:

Did someone say $400 million the budget was for this? What the hell did they spend the money on, it certainly wasn't polishing a finished product :p

Even simple side missions like turning off those breakers feels so empty, the AI when you are being chased by the feds because you stole a biro off someone's desk is also highly basic :p

Are you familiar with spoiler tags?

is the steam overlay FPS counter accurate or not

5800x3d and a 7900XT says I am getting avg 100fps on planet surface and avg 120fps indoors at 2k ultra settings, no upscaling and no FSR, set shadows only to high

vram useage is low..less than 7gig and system memory using about 15 gig (out of 32)

Having said that, those CPU benchmarks posted seem a bit dubious. Is the 13 series really that much faster than the 12 series!?

In this specific engine, it appears so. Thsi isn't the case for other games however.

Says the guy quoting the whole post without enclosing in a spoiler :p

Tags are for actual spoilers.
