***The Official Starfield Thread*** (As endorsed by TNA)

I think we found it guys lol, was just coming back here to update and read a few of those comments above...This was it Tombstone, got some help from some folk over on the Starfield Tech Support Discord channel...deleted that poxy folder, on the new driver, rebuilt the shaders when starting game and seems to be good...I've saved, exited and reloaded, each time things appear to be perfect

How on earth, I'm guessing some bad files left in that shader cache on a different driver? I've never seen or experienced anything like that in my life. It was gradually looking like shaders, textures as it went on and on. Knew it wasn't hardware. So annoying, obviously just reinstalling the game time and time again wasn't going to change a thing as the shaders in C:..../appdata/local/starfield etc

8 hours to figure this one out, im so scared now going back in and testing, it will break me if this isn't it.

Thank you so much for the help, been struggling with this and getting mad, frustrated, upset all night long. At a point now where I'm so tried, typing anything that comes to mind not making much sense. Going to load one more time then finally call it a night, or morning. Not really worth bed now is it.

Glad you got there in the end, good luck !

So you guys are saying... don't buy it yet? Or not worth buying at all?
Its not my cup of tea for sure, but many here like it or want to like it and have the patience for it to mature and I hope it does.

Not me, your mileage may vary though? To me the initial impressions are its unfinished, its quite raw and rough around the edges ... is there gameplay in amongst this initial mess? Perhaps
is it Skyrim in space? Possibly ... its the same old worn out and tired game engine made for Consoles and narry a nod to dedicated PC gamer enthusiasts.

There is no Ultra Wide and i mean true ultra wide support out of the box and old ini fixs dont work.

If you never got it for free as an AMD product promotion, you might be best advised to wait for some dust to settle and wait a while, this Game has been crazy over hyped iMHO.

I still insist, and for better Graphics ... just go buy and play Nightdives System Shock remake, its also an RPG of sorts and blows this silly game clean out of the water with far richer game play.

I have the system shock remake and it’s nowhere near as good graphically. In fact the graphics in system shock are deliberately low res and retro to capture that 90s feel. They did a great job on it but it really is nothing special graphically. It was a great remake but a totally different style of game, with far less scope, no real RPG elements and the game play was very different.

Not sure how they can even be compared as they are very different styles of game.

Now that I've got DLSS and AutoHDR working, I decided to keep the game. Although; this game has the worst graphics quality to performance ratio of any game I've ever played.

You must never have played CP 2077. Severe pop up in buildings and especially cars. You need to enable RT just for basic stuff like water reflections and decent shadows. Without the RT the game looks well below 2015 levels graphically and with it on its still nothing special graphically with lots of low resolution texture pop up.

Yeah I never understood the drooling over the graphics in that game. It has a few moments where things look pretty good but overall its nothing to write home about due to other areas where it falls flat on its nose. Crysis 3 is overall as a complete package a better looking game IMHO and that title is getting on some years now.

Yep CP 2077 was a regression on every single level from their much older Witcher 3.

Some of you are crazy! The game is brilliant. Fantastic story, voice acting, characters, facial animation, setting, graphics (HDR issue fixed with reshade until patched...and DLSS). Way better than expected.

The idea of flying around in space for hours on end would bore me silly, just don't have the time or interest in doing that. They've found a great balance between open world/exploring vs the tedium that often comes with that genre.

11 hours in and it's just spot on so far.

I agree on a lot of your points but lip sync ain’t one of ‘em. This was always true of Bethesda games though and I’ve seen worse in some recent AAA games. In fact there’s very few games that get it even close to correct. Lol the GOTY of last year didn’t even try.

I'm still to play as I'm a pauper and awaiting the gamepass standard release but in anticipation does anybody have a list of tips/reshades/mods to get me going.

I'm trying to get myself ready and prepped so things like the travelling via the scanner is great to know.

I'm about to lose it here. Underclocked vram and core by 500mhz, back on old driver i was using previously this afternoon, started new game..This is the bottom of the lift scene

WTF is going on guys???
I've got rid of most of it by using a reshade and turning off HDR in windows. Did a little video last night

I’m finding the details of the environments amazing.

I’ve spent ages just running around on a few of the planets, exploring the little hidden areas, so much to see.

I’m barely even doing the quests, just exploring and finding places, it’s great!

So I just tested positive for covid ( avoided it for 2 and a half years ) and need to lock myself away in my man cave for 3 days .

Im going in!
I tested positive this morning too. I was supposed to going out climbing doing wholesome things all weekend.....but I guess I'm just reverting to goblin mode in my mancave instead.

On another note, has anyone got the 32:9 hack working on gamepass version?

Got 32:9 working :)

jeez i also was covid positive on thursday, feel terrible and weak, asthma doesnt help, it must be on the rise again

It’s almost like these diseases have some sort of seasonal trends to them. If only we could predict such things. ;)

Apologies, I’m just ragging on ya a bit. It’s no fun having Covid and I hope you fully recover. I work in a hospital and it has been predicted for months we would have a new wave of Covid.
