Where can I go for some ship fights? Crimson fleet won’t attack me because I joined their faction. I need some fights so that I can upgrade pilot level

I'm on a 10700k with a 4090, and using the DLSS 3 mod with FG am more nor less hitting my capped frame rate of 115fps constantly.

I have had a major slowdown in one particular area though - it will occasionally drop as low as 5 or 6 fps in this area for a second or two and then revert to the high fps again - and wondered if this was specific to me or if anyone else was having the same problem.

It's near the start of the game - I have travelled to the planet with New Atlantis, but rather than go there to meet Constellation I took a detour and landed at another marked landing site there for a research lab (or something like that) There was quite a lot of animal life there including flying predator parrot things attacking other animals, and I don't know if it's that which is causing the problem (presumably hitting the CPU hard.)

Just wondering if anyone else had experienced similar? So far this is the only place I've experienced these slowdowns, and everywhere else has been extremely smooth.

So i took all the old Earth antiques from the Lodge as they all seemed to have 600 credits+ against them - and actually got very little for them off the vendors. The 2 guys who said they were collectors of that stuff didnt have an option to sell to.

Is there someone.where who gives a decent price for this stuff ?

Not sure about antiques but there’s a bookstore in Akila that will buy old earth books. Haven’t sold anything to her yet but i just found oliver twist in a pirate cave (i’ve pictured them all singing Consider Yourself ever since) so I’ll find out soon how generous she is.

I'm 7 hours in level 8/9 I think and I'm finding this a chore to play, nothings keeping me interested, equipment/gun/suits don't mean much, space combat is short lived, sick of running down corridors to talk to some-one that won't talk to me till I talk to his mate.

Does this get better?

Considering this game, will it run good on my setup at 1440p at 144hz ?
3060TI
5800X3D CPU
32GB 3600mhz RAM

Also. If I like Halo, would I like this game ? It looks similar.

Like 40c in my room with my space heater PC on my n there.

I know - I couldn’t do it. Just been doing some cleaning and my eyeballs are sweating. The dog is lying on the bathroom floor as it’s the coolest part of the flat. Definitely buying an aircon unit over winter in preparation for next summer - my pasty Scottish behind can’t take this.

Edit: agree on the main questline. I only just got the first thingamajig to get a power but that line is pretty tedious.

Funnily enough, I've actually found that the faction quests are more interesting than the main quest, I've got 2 more pieces of the artifact and then stopped the main quest and focussed more on the side quests because I dont know who wrote the story/dialogue for the main quest but I'm assuming it was as part of their GCSE coursework in Year 11. Oddly I find the writing in the side quests to be better
