How many main quest missions do you recommend that we do? 5? 10? İ could do that maybe after finishing being the ranger :D

Not many. You want a quest called 'into the unknown' which unlocks after the second quest, though three unlock at this stage and I did the others first, so took me a bit longer. I've not actually done many more of those myself as I switched to the ranger ones as well.

On the fence, some reviews say 95% brilliant, but others like PC Gamer gave it an extremely meh 75% saying many of the planets are dull and even the bigger planets are bland or underwhelming and the characters uninteresting, identical etc. Does not sound like ‘Skyrim in Space’.

I presume it is really somewhere between both extremes but is it really worth it at full price now?

You're better off reading steam reviews as it has hours played against the review and there are lots of users who go into great depth in their review to explain the pros and cons, so you're more likely to come across specific things you'll like or that would annoy you.

I wouldn't pay full price for it.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, Stevie Wonder in this case.

Re: 537.34

Nvidia did specifically say in the notes:

Anyone who has the gamepass version noticed a big difference with this driver?

I didn't notice any frame rate changes but the FPS swings 60-165 depending where I am and what I'm doing so without a specific benchmark I suspect difficult to judge.

What I did notice was some major pop in post driver install. At one point a whole tower went hazy, another appeared next to it, then it faded. Things like a chair or plant will occasionally appear right infront of me while moving and some other texture glitches and stutters. Was fine before except the odd NPC falling though floors etc.

5800X 3D, 4080, fast Gen4 NVME.

Ultra, native 1440p, FSR, DSR and all that disabled.
Shadows high, motion blur off.

I've only done one quest from the main one and buggered off and joined the vanguard and UC lol

Trying to do a survey mission and couldn't find the last flora, gave up and went and did something more fun. It was cool running around the planet a bit, came across a few fun wee mini-events. Not going to bother doing another though.

The standard game is overpriced and the £85 version is just ridiculous. The game isn't as good as Skyrim. It's a £30 game I'd say.

And yea the characters and stories are mostly uninteresting. Followers are more of an annoyance than help as the AI is awful. Like in Skyrim they just end up dragging miles behind.

Spent the last sort of day (ish) grinding some stuff.

I wanted to be able to build the large size storage containers in my outpost, that way I can horde resources and just keep them there.

Took a bit of grinding the outpost building skill, some resource gathering and some research but worth doing imo. Also as I am level 40 the levels do start to come more slowly, so a bit of XP grind to get the skills.

It also means I have less focus on storage in my ship, after I spent all that time designing the custom ship it was focused on storage, which obviously makes it heavier and gimps it a bit.

I might have a go at designing another now purely as a fighter.

But I need to take a break from that and get back to the quests for it a bit.

Full steam price? No. Grabbing a AMD code £30-£40 here for standard or premium edition? Yes.

All depends really. For me I already had £40 worth of fun in my 40 hours of gameplay and still got a good 40 more to go yet based on the fun I am having. Plus I got the dlc to come yet which I paid for as I got the premium edition.

Others may feel different as they can't look past what should have been to enjoy what is there. Not saying that is everyone, but I do think.some seem to suffer from this here.

I would easily give it an 8 out of 10, no questions asked. Not many games make me want to play ever it every night. That says a lot right there. I can't give it a 9 though as they just did not deliver what they should have and what I expected. So yeah, maybe I am also letting expectations get in the way here :p

Frustrating isn't it? That's why I won't touch those. Had enough after Kreet. Lol.

I was struggling with space combat so had been avoiding it and just jumping out of there or whatever. Then I picked up the razorleaf, and while still not amazing I figured it would be more up to the job, so when a bounty hunter picked a fight with me last night I figured I'd take them on. Instantly killed me in less than 5 seconds, retried several times and same result. Not sure if he was crazy high level or if something is broke, but I always lasted a lot longer in the original ship. :(

Patch out

First, an enormous thank you to all of you playing Starfield and your support. We are absolutely blown away by the response and all you love about the game. We’re also reading all your great feedback on what you’d like to see improved or added to the game. This is a game we’ll be supporting for years and years to come, so please keep all the feedback coming! Even if we don’t get to your requests immediately, we’d love to do it in the future, like city maps. Our priority initially is making sure any top blocker bugs or stability issues are addressed, and adding quality-of-life features that many are asking for.

This first update is a small hotfix targeted at the few top issues were are seeing. After that, expect a regular interval of updates that have top community requested features including:

  • Brightness and Contrast controls
  • HDR Calibration Menu
  • FOV Slider
  • Nvidia DLSS Support (PC)
  • 32:9 Ultrawide Monitor Support (PC)
  • Eat button for food!
We’re also working closely with Nvidia, AMD, and Intel on driver support, and each update will include new stability and performance improvements.

Additionally, we are working on our built-in mod support (Creations) that will work across all platforms similar to what we’ve done with Skyrim and Fallout 4. This full support is planned to launch early next year. Until then, we know our PC community is already very active in the modding space and if you have any feedback on how we can make this better, please let us know . Modding and creating in our games will always be a vital and important part of who we are, and we love seeing the community get off to such a strong start.

Keep the feedback coming, we really do read it all, and thank you all again for taking this journey with us!

Bethesda Game Studios

Update Version 1.7.29 - Fixes and Improvements

Performance and Stability

  • Xbox Series X|S Improved stability related to installations.
  • Various stability and performance improvements to reduce crashes and improve framerate.

Quests

  • All That Money Can Buy: Fixed an issue where player activity could result in a quest blocker.
  • Into the Unknown: Fixed an issue that could prevent the quest from appearing after the game is completed.
  • Shadows in Neon: Fixed an issue where player activity could result in a quest blocker.

So what is the point of that patch on PC as a hotfix when none of the changes apply to PC lol It's a 720MB update which my Steam just downloaded.
