*** The Official Steam Deck Thread ***

I'm gonna level with ya'll, I'm not that excited about it, I just enjoy the chase.

Yeah. I nearly joined in to order one. Was thinking maybe I get one. Enjoy the hype, use it for a week or so and sell it. Would at least get what I paid for it I would imagine. Then thought **** that. Might like it too much and then not be able to be happy with the crappy lcd one I am after

FYI also - "Keep trying people. Even if it says out of stock. I just kept spamming the button on payment method screen and eventually got through."

Finally worked, bagged a 512GB. So glad I had my steam wallet topped up otherwise it would have failed at payment i guess.

I would have imagined with Steam walled it would have been by far the fastest.

Glossy LCD left vs Etched OLED right, yikes

but in this example (OLED bottom) it looks better and the LCD glossy has reflections. Not an issue for me as I don't play with lights above me but still.

So what games we all going to give a go once it arrives ?
Anything from about 5 years ago and 2d indies because I don't see the point in playing more modern titles on low settings to get 30fps and an hour's battery.

One on the right looks turd. Glad I went with 512 glossy

I think I'm mostly planning to use it to continue games I've started at home on my Xbox, where they have cross save, when I'm traveling.

Plus for strategy games etc
Yeah be interested in a couple of strategy games so how they work.

I went with the 1TB. It's only £90 difference which is close to the price of a 1TB NVME drive that fits.
I can pass my 1TB upgraded OG Steaddeck to my son.
