Similar position; suspect would just end up gathering dust. Valve will have lost loads of sales by allowing such a lengthy period for people to mull it over.
i agree the wait people have had has killed the huge buzz that the steam deck had back last july
i'm still getting mine but i can see a lot of people not going through with the purchase
i don't see steam deck 2 anytime before 2024 and the launch has to be much much smoother no delays no drip drip feed of stock
Completely true and they would have expected a conversion rate of way less than 100%.

I think it goes bothe ways, I popped the £4 down and expected to not really want it once we knew what it could do etc but the opposite happened and in the last few months I really sold myself on it.
It's not for everyone, and isn't perfect but for my situation I think I'll get some good use out of it
Yeah, this was the way it went for me. Popped my £4 down purely because I had steam credit and have managed to convince myself I want it over time. It's coming on Monday.

A few days if I recall but a week total turn around from moment I paid to taking delivery, Thursday to thursday
I tried Doom Eternal yesterday. Runs flawlessly. That's more a testament to that amazing engine, it's honestly witch craft.
But yeah, stunning visuals and flawless performance. Verified etc.
I had it direct on Bethesda's launcher but they shut that down and you can transfer that copy to a direct steam copy via the Bethesda site

From what I read, a decent brand with A2 V30 specs was recommended but mainly for maxing out download speed, impact on game loads was limited with any decent card with good read speeds. There's a thread on the steam deck subreddit going through some options. I picked up a samsung pro plus A2 V30 in preperation for mine arriving. I'm in the same situation as gadget73; just got my tracking info after paying on Thursday, exciting times!
