The *Official* Supreme Commander Thread

just been playin demo, 1280x1024, highest graphics etc.
Anyone else think at this res the battlefield becomes very fiddley? I wasnt too impressed, generally when i wanted to select my army id have to zoom out so far that i couldnt see them in there beauty!

Well... hate to say it but im stuck on the 2nd level. Need to evacuate some place... how? Evacuate? Got my units in that big crosshair?? Confused

If you hold the cursor over the objective in the top left. It has three figures (0/20 0/14 0/12) Those are for 20 Tanks, 14 Anti-Air Vehicles, 12 Gunships that you need to put inside the large crosshairs area.

This objective is easy as well. Each gunship can carry a unit. So just load up the civvies onto the gunships and take to Lima base. Then prepare for a huge *** kicking LOL Useful tip, AA Defenses. Nuff said. Youll see what i mean *evil grin* :D

Thanks :p

Got 18 AA, 22 Tanks and 12 Gunships in the crosshair and still nothing.....

Edit: do i have them in the wrong crosshair? they are in the one in the top right...

oh, once i had all the numbers in the objective maxxed the civvies (8 trucks) just appeared outside the main building.

No you need to put them in the one beneath your base :p

haha, im an idiot!! Ok ill get onto that, ive spent the last 10 mins building units at the north-eastern base

:p

Dont worry, having some T2 defenses in the north eastern base can be useful, as you'll soon find out hehe. You have to defend that lab for the entire mission although the objectives don't mention that later on.

EDIT - Also, if you think you have a large army for a base assault, think again :p

My final stats for that mission was 1000 kills, 1300 losses or something like that.

Got the trucks following me, its just that there are massive traffic jams :p

Dont know what im on about.... just need to use brain...

Trucks + Gunships = :D

Edit: Must have had over 150 units for the final attack on the enemy base, but i got slaughtered! It was those point defence towers. Oh well off to bed, didnt realise the time.

thats also part of the appeal...you HAVE to zoom out to select your army..your army wont fit on the screen like in other RTSs, its hilarious :D

Just had an awesome game on LAN here at uni.

Using the map from all the videos, not bothering attacking much on either side, my team just built loads of nukes and artillery. My team mate had 1 nuke every minute (pretty nasty for the enemy) and I had 2 Tech 3, and 3 Experimental Artillery's pounding there base. They had no base within range of my artillery, which just meant easy picking step by step with the nukes, despite the fact the enemy had 18 anti-nukes :p

About to play again in a minute :)

oh i wish i could play over the UEA network, but they have some rather annoying privacy thing which means i cant see any other network machines here...no doubt theres a way round it...but i wouldnt even know where to start with that

Connect via IP.

I'm on a different subnet to many of the other people here (royal pain in the ass) and they have to connect via ip. Just fire up command prompt, and give them your ip and port.

ooo thanks for the tip...might be able to get a lfs lan going at some point, couple of my mates have a tendancy to cause a few accidents on main servers so if i can keep them off those for a while i think the racers on those servers will be happy haha
