Cool, thanks for the feedback. It looks so fun on the videos where people just do that skiing thing, i'd love to be able to bom it round the map skiing while shooting people, I don't know why but I just like stuff like that.
 
You'll probably like the game, if you can get through the learning curve.

Now is a good time to start tbh, double XP through to Sunday, so unlocking weapons is going to be so fast.

Also if you like the game buy VIP + Boost, it'll speed things up even more and stack with the Double XP event.
 
So are there any decent dedicated servers to play on, i try playing random matched of ctf but theres that many fekin retards it literally hurts me to play the game now.
 
^^^ if you're getting frustrated by public then pugs are best. We also play pubs on mumble as well which is fun.

Thing I like about this game at the moment is that it is very team oriented. You simply can't win pugs by yourself.
 
Well that was underwhelming. Chose as capper, after stating I don't have a mic, only to face whining when I wasn't calling out times (no ****). So someone else took on the role of capper, barely managing to grab the flag, let alone get it anywhere near our stand, whilst I had to bite my tongue and participate in the laughable 'defence' our team had. Hope they enjoyed the countdowns to each failed grab - far more reliable/helpful than actual grabs...I expected better players tbh.

Deific you got picked into a bad team. You and the other guy capping were both first timers which isnt a role I would advise playing to start with. I thought u were going to chase or something. The whole reason we re picked is our team was so strong compared to yours.

And really you cannot cap without a mic. Saying you did better than the other guy then yea thats true but he was a total nub. Not been able to co-ordinate the O was destined to fail. You may have got out with a lucky cap but thats all it would have been.

Some guys are very new to it and some are top EU players. Its a mix and what's better about pugs is the team play which if you had a mic you would have seen. You say you have a mic on order so please dont give up on pugs they really can be great when teams are fair and your all working together.

@Astaeri: How you liking thrust? Sucks not having as much energy dont it. Makes some routes harder but its what everyone uses so its possible with practice.

Yeah energy management is key it seems, although I notice it's so much easier to get high speed grabs.

What should I look for as my next upgrade? Reach?

It may have been my first time pugging in Tribes Ascend, but I'm no scrub to scrims or Tribes, as you've seen. It just irritated me to have a headless team, telling me they dont want me to cap because timings couldnt be called, except they failed at co-ordinating anythign resembling an offense/cap strategy at all. I've scrimmed in other games and previous Tribes, and the skill/strategy level i saw today was far below what I expected based on those. Perhaps I'd enjoy it more on the other team, but honestly it just seemed like a TDM at our base whilst you capped our flag unhindered.
 
Well I was unhindered due to me coordinating our O. I know full well you can cap as I've played with you plenty but been able to communicate to your O is a must. Before we started playing our team were saying it was stacked which was proved right when we capped out in no time. Oxygen is a very decent player so not sure what happened with his picking. Maybe he didn't know anyone there.

Anyway I guess your mic will be here this week so we can give it another go.

well, i dropped 35quid on gold :/ so i can get any kit i want, nearly
even with double xp + 50% + double weekend you rank up slow :x
i suck at skiing too :x

It's a shame that your first experience was rubbish but as an offence player I need to continually understand where the capper is otherwise it just doesn't work. You can only run disruption (which is what you need to cap) for a cetain amount of time and generally the capper will determine when the offense needs to come in (which is still hard coordinating 2-3 O players).
