**The official Vanguard Thread**

Make sure you've defragged after install, it really improved performance on my system. There was some links posted earlier in this thread with other suggestions too.

I wouldn't buy a Raptor *just* for Vanguard right now. Because its a new MMO theres still a ton of bugs/performance issues in the game that'll be fixed in upcoming patches. Just be patient. :p

If I did manage to purchase a second hand 36gb raptor it would not doubt be *just* for Vanguard as the games meant to need 20gb so taking in account future content and keeping the disc free from junk and running quick it would pretty much be my VG disc.

I see your point that the game is new but deep down I just can't see the performance being increased all that much. I guess most work done would be fixing the game glitches and bugs.

I reckon they would need a coding army to fix the performance to a respectable degree. With my Rig I would be hoping for minimum loading lag, at least 40fps and AA to be option ;)

Yep defragged. Vanguard is on my main HD and there is 21% free, Disc Defragmenter runs and finishes. Only problem is afterwards I analyse and it still says it should be defragged. Maybe I should use another program

They've already fixed quite a few memory leaks and some of the stutter bugs ( :o ). But theres still a few leaks in the game, and problems with "chunk" loading, which are like serverlines, possibly where you're having the problems. Sigil are aware of it and are still working on it afaik. :D

Good to hear. The other main issue is our characters getting *stuck* but to be fair when we report it we are moved so thats kewl.

anyone tried to run this on windows Vista? Just installed it and it GPF's complaing about missing DirectX 9c.

Installing it on my XP partition now but would like to get it going on Vista.

I'm running it on Vista. Didn't get this message with the retail, but did get it in beta at one point. I just did a search for the file it was looking for in my other games and copied it into the bin folder in the vanguard folder.

Then why do you keep replying? :\

You're not playing.. wow.. now move along.
I think thats the kind of attitude is the reason Sigil decided not to have officially host forums... ;)

I think you are the type who dont mind what interface is used, perhaps u should keep quiet and let others express an opinion.

Double Adventuring Kill Experience Weekend
It is hard to believe it has already been one month since Vanguard was released! We know it is not always easy to be the first to explore new lands, so as a big thank you to all those adventurers out there who did just that – this weekend will be a server-wide double adventuring kill experience event.

Event start and end times will correspond with the daily server restarts.
STARTS: Saturday, March 3rd, 5:00am PST (Friday, March 2nd, 8:00pm PST for Europeans)
ENDS: Monday, March 5th, 5:00am PST (Sunday, March 4th, 8:00pm PST for Europeans)

Happy hunting!

Adventuring Kill Experience Increase
As we continue to gain more and more valuable data about player progression, we will also continue to tweak the experience curve as needed. In the next patch, we will be increasing the overall rate at which adventuring kill experience is gained by a small but noticeable amount to more properly align with our originally planned leveling times. This is separate from the double adventuring kill experience weekend.

Diplomacy Experience Increase
With the next patch, we will be increasing the rate at which diplomats gain experience by a small but noticeable margin. Please be sure to give any feedback on the affiliate fan sites.

Rollback Fix
A bug that may have been causing a very small amount of players to experience “rollbacks”, causing them to lose some experience has been fixed. Please report any instances of this still happening on the support or affiliate forums. Thank you!

Time to get grinding guys!

Shame theres no crafting increase. At least the crafting outposts will be a bit quieter for me. :p

No, being on a crusade to ensure everyone knows one is not playing the game, because one doesn't like a particular aspect of it at all, then still keeping check on the thread about it, then updating everyone that one still does not play the game is just.. well, work it out.

one doesn't like a particular aspect of it at all,
In fact I dont like any of it, I find all MMORPGs a big waste of time. Thats after 18months playing SWG and 8 months of CoV.

Its curious that MMORPG players get extremely defensive when their favorite waste of time is criticised; you dont find that with normal games.

The last thing I did on the Vanguard beta server was ask "anyone else find this fun"? I had about 5 people hurling abuse and 1 sensible person sent me a tell. Strangely you are ignored if u say "lfg", although I did find US CoV servers were more friendly compared to the UK ones.

Have fun getting even more stressed with me... ;)

So you wasted 18months + 8months of you own time, then?

Its curious that MMORPG players get extremely defensive when their favorite waste of time is criticised; you dont find that with normal games.
Balderdash. CS, BF, Quake.. etc. players all do the same.

Stressed? On the contrary, I assure you. ;)

Everyone has an opinion, i think we'v heard yours enough.
Its only a waste of time if you dont enjoy it, otherwise its a perfectly acceptable passtime, that should be relaxing, and also can contain social interaction. Im keeping my eye on this game for when it becomes more patched and developed as i think it will be a great game to sit down and play to unwind.

hhmmmmm Seriously I can not belive you genuinely think that  Go on a BF2 and **** it off like you have VG, I once mentioned from my experience of BF2 that the servers are mainly full of TK'ers and Noobs...any one would have thought I said something about their Mum's

This is my first MMO and I think it is an amazing game to supliment my FPS....sign on with my mates do a few missions, cruise round, have a lil duel (lose) then go play R6 Vegas on pistol server and own em :D

I might play VG till it gets boring then move on and play something else...maybe 'Age of Conan' I think it looks promising.

I don't know mybe you need real life friends in the house to get the most out of Vanguard  I know that I only play it when my mates are round and that the missions are way more fun when you have you mate healing you and another helping you pawn the multiple NPC's attacking you. I know I don't like wasting time on a game stuck so I can always ask 'wheres this thing too'.

Any 1 getting stuck get a friend to throw u a rope /rope ;) or /stuck yes

Theres quests for every lvl in different zones u need to get on ** mount and explore :D find a quest zone but the q givers are red ? u need faction kill mobs around the zone to see which give faction, the normal is 100 faction tho some big citys = 205

It amazes me the amount of people that dont know about skrillian point and such, quests there for hero rewards :)

Currently grinding arena coins and fighting challenge opponent's for arena coins at a big gladiator COLISEUM run by Minotaurs :)
Should have our lvl 42 legendry weapons by the end of the week :D
