I only beta tested Vanguard for a few weeks, but the Vanguard environment feels much more better than EQ2 did. Never got into EQ2 much as it just didn't suck me in as much as Vanguard did for the first time.

I much prefer vanguard it has nice enviroments and the crafting is good fun, go on have a go!!

I don't need much tempting, all I was waiting for is someone to tell me to go for it. What the heck you get a month included for £25 so even if I don't continue it's still better value than most single player games.

You reckon my PC will run it OK at 1600x1200 or 1280x960 with AA. Also how much is the subscription as I can't find the info on their website.

Oh, I forgot the most important question. What is the community like as this is the most important aspect of any MMO.

You should be able to run it on high, its very demanding. Subscription is the normal $15.

Only played it for a week or two but the community seemed good, not many WoW kiddies anyway and mostly mature.

Did anyone else get confirmation from a "certain" company that the Collectors Edition is not available anymore and as a gesture of goodwill, you're being sent a FREE copy of the standard edition

. Still wanted the CE though.

You mean those are real clouds using particles. If so I am amazed and do they change shape.

Yup there real clouds, not sure if they change shape as ive not looked long enough.
Could'nt really run the game on my old x1900xtx with them on as it ment a 15-20fps hit, but my new nvidai doesnt take a fps hit at all with them enabled.

btw
Any 1 running a Nvidai card , theres a few minor driver problems, any prob in game do a /flush in chat box to resolve

just arrived in the post..... hrmmm doesnt tell you the monthly cost lolo havent read through all the manual yet though

it does say this on the back

"System Requirements subject to change as the game progresse and you may need to upgrade your current system (or obtain a new system) to play this game"

never had a game say i might need to buy a new system before.

ohh wait which server US or Euro? (apparently the euro servers suffer more downtime?)

I'm still being told I don't have a vanguard subscription.

There's a post over at IGN about downtime, saying the EU servers will be down until about 2pm today to allow for the second server to be brought online.

Did you do a digital download pre-order? If so look at your "My Account" within the SoE online store and you'll see the Vanguard pre-order is still there. I expect in the next few days it will turn into a subscription or ask you to subscribe when you try and login, but saying that you get a month free with the game so it may not ask for anything for a month.

As for the monthly fee, Its $14.99 a month but I think we need to add fees onto that. I would guess it's just under £10 a month.

I got the boxed version delivered but the retailer I used wasn't part of the pre-order box scheme. I can see Vanguard on my account settings, just the game login insists I don't have an account.

Roll on this afternoon anyway, hopefully it'll sort itself out as I'm looking forward to trying this game out

Cheers. i first need to move a lot of stuff from hdd onto storage disks. Very surprised this game requires 20 GIG (almost a third of my entire hdd)
