Oh dear... MMS... poor operators are going to get slaughtered by their system's vendors (I used to work at a place that wote AT&T's SMS, etc systems).

Like they care, if it makes money for them whether it's real pro's or people showing off won't matter a bit. End of the day I'd have preferred compactflash too but it's exactly no worse than the old version, I had to use an adaptor or USB cable before and I do now so no change. SD might be useful every so often I guess. Compactflash would have been nice for a niche market but makes no sense for the customer base as a whole, with SDHC pretty cheap now I suspect even high end SLRs will move to that now... so why would apple add a slot for a memory format which is dying??
 
Teathering... ouch... given the size of AT&T.. and the numerous networks... ouch ouch ouch... mobile broadband via the iPhone... hmm.

Now add Skype.... Google Wave for iPhone .... ouch ouch ouch.. forget SMS, MMS and standard voice... makes all the operators IP players..

But until the 1D line turns SD i'll still think they are being silly :p
