And there was me thinking of transitioning to iMac but that is going to break Windows Boot Camp now isn't it and practically all the existing Mac game library.

Absolutely not, Apple will have sorted that long before it's released. Too many companies using Windows virtualisation and Boot Camp to let that happen
 
I’m a little concerned because I still have a handful of Windows apps that I need to run from time to time via a VM. Will I still be able to do that? I appreciate it’s a rhetorical question at the moment.

You won't know until it's released. Unless something like VMare changes their software to run on the new chip.
 
I have no real experience in Image Editing or Video Editing, but that on the fly application of filters on 4k looks crazy.
 
While it's old news, Intel must have lost a big chunk of change from losing Apple

Intel deserve the fall they are currently suffering. Rested on their laurels for far too long and took the **** with their pricing.
