What's wrong with dating from within? These athlete surround their life in the sport and probably have limited social life due to their commitment. To date from within their working circle sounds normal and to be punished for it is just... silly?

Plus there's no mixed competition in cycling so she's effectively not even dating someone in the same department, to give it a normal working environment analogy.
