**The one and only Official BioShock Thread**- now with added **SPOILERS**

Finally got it working.
Anyone on Vista getting the bioshock fov fix to work.

Followed the instructions in the readme below. I run the fix, set my fov to 0.694 on both sliders. Leave the program running. Start the game. Press * on the numpad to enable the fov fix (numlock set to on..checked that), and zilch. Looks same with or without hack.

Ive tried it and get the same result as you :(

Anybody else experiencing weird black squares in the game? They just pop up for 1 frame or when I die sometimes there's a few of them. It doesn't spoil the game, but is kinda annoying.

Had nothing like that mate. Sounds like a slight overclocking issue and may require the memory clock down a touch. If your overclocking that is :)

Are these results for Bioshock in DX10 about right?:

Frames, Time (ms), Min, Max, Avg
123770, 1838048, 19, 240, 67.338

Frames, Time (ms), Min, Max, Avg
49954, 867469, 16, 109, 57.586

I dont ever remember it going down to 16fps in game tho :s

Steam install is a joke

Last night went to play and there were no voices at all, i validated the files on steam, game went back to 80% and downloaded a whole bunch of sounds, Voices sorted

Now that i got out the biosphere the textures are guff compared to the demo, the water isnt right at all, when you get closer bubbles appear/disappear and there is no wave or shimmer around the signs like in the demo,

Done another validate and back to 90% for yet more downloading,

Can anyone tell me the size of

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\bioshock

please

bioshock benchmark tool ? or just using fraps? :/

edit

Steam has been fine for me tbh

5.58GB file size

I just tested Bioshock in DX10, 1440x900, 16xAF, 850/975 clocks.

Frames, Time (ms), Min, Max, Avg
23472, 335890, 25, 148, 69.880

i didn't expect the game to run as well as it does with everything turned on in dx 10!

i'm finding it nice and smooooth with great effects and no visable slowdown at all.

1680x1050, 8800GTX(stock) E6700(stock) 4gb ram (800mhz)

back to playing what is turning out to be a great game!

Did anyone notice the missing texture when you go through to the surgery level, you know where you go into that room and Ryan appears on the film, and then those splicers come in and start smashing the windows, and then Atlas tells you to get through quick, so you walk into what looks like a vault, well on the wall on the left behind the glass in that vault theres just a big grey triangle in the middle, ill see if i can grab a shot.

EDIT: Here at the start of the Medical pavillion.
