im waiting to see how it performs. for some reason i just can;t get rainbow 6 vegas out of my mind.
So PC Gamer and IGN have both said it ran fine, why can't you get over the fact Vegas is a crap port?

The fact my 7900GTO played it better than my 8800GTX says it all.

I'm confident 8800's and the 2900's, etc will both run this game perfectly fine.

Well to be honest Vegas did run all right, the performance wasn't the best but it wasn't unplayable. Vegas is a badly coded port over.

Comparing BioShock to Vegas just doesn't work.

You guys need to listen to the PC podcast released a while ago. They confirmed they had been testing on the 2000 series from ATi and the 8 series from nvidia and they said they had cranked up the details all the way on both and they ran it blazingly fast :)

Vegas was still a port.

i don;t get why they would make 2 seperate teams work on bioshock, one for pc and one for console, its a waste of money. they could easily just do a port job which would be far cheaper and easier for them.
thats what i can;t get my head around and the only thing iv seen get mentioned a lot is that the HUD is what was worked on for the pc version.

guess its only a couple of days left to find out though.

Lets dismiss the Dx10 features, the extra game options and the fact Ken Levine himself said the PC version has more polish.

360 was the lead version, PC version was made seperately in Australia, of course it has the same content and gameplay aside from the control/hud changes but it does have improvements with the graphics and extra game options. (Such as turning off the loot highlighting)

Because they actually wanted the game to sell well. Unlike Vegas. Good supported well running games sell well. Hence why Vegas PC was a flop.

They are from a PC background and respect PC gamers (except the leechers-hence the online activation)

Are you serious? :/

Because they are dedicated to bring the best game they can and they have done that.

It's developers like Crytek, Valve and 2K that make PC gaming so good, done when it's done and all that. Not like EA etc that bang a new one out every fortnight.

problem is i like games like rainbown 6 vegas and test drive unlimited. they are good games, well on the xbox anyway. its just a shame they get watered down so much when the get put on the pc.

As you said it's all about cutting costs with those developers Ubisoft in particular. The BioShock guys grew up on the PC the guys that made System Shock 2 handled the PC version dev of BioShock. This game is going to be super polished :)
