Of course, getting the PC version early probably won't really do you any good due to the online activation :/

Unless they don't differentiate between america and europe for the activation...

Doubtful they will differentiate between america and europe versions on the activation TBFH. So aslong as it comes after the 21st I *Should be able to activate it. If not well I'll just play about with the other goodies :)

People who've already received the PC version early have been unable to play - they get a message saying "reinstall on the 21st when the game's released". I wouldn't be that shocked if the server detects which particularly version you're using or your geographical location (easily faked, though) and dates it accordingly.

Edit: Lol. That's a horrible image you've burned into my retinas there ;p

Erm obviously they have recieved the message, but it seems I will be recieving it after the 21st so I should be A-OK.

Sorry to disappoint you but if they are clever enough to stagger the release date on STEAM , don't you think they are smart enough to either have the server look at your IP address and see if its european or even have the game executable report to the server which version it is euro or north america.

ffs :o . I know that and I've said if it dosn't unlock its no biggy ;)

IMPORTANT PC DEMO NEWS:

The fileplanet download manager has changed the "Check for availablility" for the demo from 1 day to 2 hrs! Does this mean that it could come out within a few hours!!!

Yea this has happened in the past with demos so yea It could come in a few hours :D .

so you reserved the demo then, ummmmmmmmmmm, think I might become a full member, you pay monthly or yearly ?

Yearly I doubt I will be renewing my subscription though. :o , it's pointless bar the limited betas/demos. I can download everything else off other sites faster

Just went down to my local game store and reserved the Special Edition. I was gonna just get the regular version, but then he told me they were only getting one SE and nobody had reserved it. And, yes, he showed me the screen to prove it before anybody asks :)

The big daddy version? :p

This is getting unbeleivable, that thread in the 2k forums with a 2k employee posting the demo would be out over the weekend ended up being a fake.

Some tard mod stickied it assuming it was a 2k employee without even checking.

Im not even going to go near those forums now. It seems a few kids get off on the fact they're spoiling the game for people. Sad *****

Remember guys to keep spoilers out this thread. :) . Think I might make another thread next week for seperate spoilers, anyone else think this is a good idea?. Like the console boys did.

You guys need to listen to the PC podcast released a while ago. They confirmed they had been testing on the 2000 series from ATi and the 8 series from nvidia and they said they had cranked up the details all the way on both and they ran it blazingly fast :)

i don;t get why they would make 2 seperate teams work on bioshock, one for pc and one for console, its a waste of money. they could easily just do a port job which would be far cheaper and easier for them.

Because they actually wanted the game to sell well. Unlike Vegas. Good supported well running games sell well. Hence why Vegas PC was a flop.

problem is i like games like rainbown 6 vegas and test drive unlimited. they are good games, well on the xbox anyway. its just a shame they get watered down so much when the get put on the pc.

As you said it's all about cutting costs with those developers Ubisoft in particular. The BioShock guys grew up on the PC the guys that made System Shock 2 handled the PC version dev of BioShock. This game is going to be super polished :)
