The ONE AND ONLY ***OFFICIAL*** Crysis thread - SPOILERS!

Just finished the game & found it ran surprisingly well, on my X1900XT & Athlon X2 3800 @ 2.4GHz.

Had all the settings on high, but object details on medium @ 1024x768 & the only stuttery parts i got all the way through were during a couple of the cutscenes for some reason, the bit in the control room on the carrier it kept pausing for 5 seconds every 5 seconds,.

I just re-loaded from the beginning of the level though & it ran smoothly the 2nd time.

I'd say this overall ran better than FarCry did on my old Radeon 9800 with a 2.5GHz Barton CPU.

This might have been posted in this thread already but has anyone found out a good mix between IQ and speed in a autoexec.cfg file others can try?

What spec would you need to have 60fps with Very High, 1920x1080, 4XAA, 16XAF?
Also I cannot select Very High- just High. X1900XT, XP. Would I need Vista to use VH, or a 88xx line? Is there a hack to enable very high? It'll be a slideshow but just want to check differences.

Res depending, for a res of 1920x1200 or thereabouts no spec exists that can play it at those settings. I don't even think sli or crossfire can cut it at those settings and a high res.

Quad SLI'd G90 cards and a powerplant next to your house.

Very high can be easily done on XP by using edited cfg files, google for Crysis edited CVAR and I think you will find it.

Anyone got any settings for qx6700 @ 3.5 4GB Ram and a 8800GTX running 1920 x 1200. Need to find a sweet spot. Oh running vista 64

Tried that config hack, still displays high in graphics setting, and I can't tell in the game it's worked

It doesn't allow you to select the Very High presets in-game. Instead, it just enables the settings in the configuration files which would be enabled if the Very High presets in-game were selected.

If you want to try them out, I found that one of the biggest visual impacts can be achieved, with virtually no performance impact, by entering the following commands:

r_ssao_quality=1
r_ssao_amount=0.2
r_SSAO_darkening=3.6

i just beat the game there, man the final boss was pretty cool like, i loved this game, i'll def be re-playing it in the next difficulty up :D

it's one of my fav games now i have to say

it was pretty good but how easy was the end? not much of a challange at all really. Plus i think the game was spoilt a lot by all the pre released video footage :(

In the console? It's just saying unknown command. Since I've complete it are there any cheats? Using the nuke weapon for every baddie would be fun! :-)

So I'm kinda stuck...

Sort of at the end of the first level I guess. I have loacated the first hostage, the Korean Scientist and Psycho helped me break down the door to get into the room where she was being held. Now I have destroyed the two tanks and have taken out everyone in the base and surrounding it but I have no idea where to go now. There is nothing on my map which displays where I should be heading next and Psycho and the Korean Scientist have dissapeared...

On my objectives it says something about finding the rest of the hostages in a School but nothing as to what way I should be heading...

Thanks for the help!

If you're entering them into the console, you need to leave out the = signs. So enter them like this:

r_ssao_quality 1
r_ssao_amount 0.2
r_SSAO_darkening 3.6

Also, bear in mind that they might not work without creating either an autoexec.cfg or system.cfg file in the Crysis root dir and entering the line:

con_restricted=0

if i remember right, if you just head towards like where there is a waterfall i think you get a new objective to meet prophet

Finished this last night, was shorter than I expected but i loved every single minute of it. This game is a new benchmark for the world of gaming.

I so can't wait to play this again on a higher difficult :cool:

Thanks for the tip.

Now suddenly the game started studdering along with the music and I thought it was a lag problem to restarted again but same thing happened. When I completely exited the game my mouse would take ages to get across the screen and music again would completely studder. Temperatures seem fine and I have a Corsair 520W PSU so not sure why this was happening... have turned PC off while I have dinner and gonna see if it happens again in a bit...

How the hell do i kill the huge thing on the carrier.

Just finished it.

You have to duck, dive and stay alive. Basically after you kill all the turrets she will disable the shields one on the left, nuke, one on the right nuke. Lots of fighting between the disabling. Then the thing slams into the ship and you have to shoot the door underneath the beast. Then nuke it a couple or so times. Sounds easy, hell no. Lost count how many times I died. Its all about staying alive.

What a rubbish ending!! :(

Well I've installed it and started to play it.. However, if I play in DX9 mode I the text in the game goes weird. Some of the letters change to lines and I can't read things..

I have tried it with the 7.10/Hotfix/7.11 drivers and it still does the same. I have tried it with my 2900 clocked at stock as well!

Any ideas?

Cheers! :)

Edit: I've found out that if I start a new game, it all works perfectly. However, when I save, quit and reload, it does it again. It also works fine in DX10 mode! :(
