The ONE AND ONLY ***OFFICIAL*** Crysis thread - SPOILERS!

When did everyone start playing games at these insane resolutions anyway? :P There are a lot of complaints, but I remember when Half-Life 2 came out, I couldn't even put AA on past like 2x without noticing severe slowdown. I ended up turning it completely off. :o
 
WOW, i was little peeved at performance with my 8800gt but now i am running dx9 all on high except shadows, physics (meduim) 1680x1050 and its very playable a lot lower than i like normally but 25-40fps is low but it still feels smooth.

Enjoying a lot now, just got to the AA guns the cut scences are immense and the whole atmosphere whilst playing via headphones is great.
 
I hear lots of people saying they play at 1680x1050 on Medium-high settings on a 8800GT. I can't even play at low or it drops below 20fps sometimes! Doesnt anyone have this setup on Vista 64bit?
 
Great game...it's really rather short tho huh?! was hoping it would go on rather longer
im soooo glad they kept the cheesy B-movies style script and storyline, v inkeeping with farcry

It is basically a file that contains a load of settings that adjust the graphics of the game. Basically you can make DX9 look almost as good as DX10 while running at almost the same speed as high. Or you can make it look like medium, but perform more like low, etc.

If you want to do it yourself then check out this thread. It is an awesome guide to pretty much every setting and will let you totally customize your experience.

But if you are lazy and want instant action, there are loads of configs around. Check out places like this or this this. Alternatively, find someone here with a similar spec PC as you and ask them for their config!

when is this damn patch comeing??? i want to play it ffs!!! im not going to play when sli isnt fully working.

Just got Crysis this morning.. played a bit.. not bad - but not brilliant.

Having some probs with the graphics, seems like they keep on resetting or something.. I put the shader quality to medium (with all high) but everything seems to be more reflective and it looks quite odd..

Im in the part where youre in the village and there's tanks inc... cant find many rocket launchers.. bit stuck.. anyone?

Crysis is very dependant on the latest drivers ,hint -more are in the schoolhouse
 
ive just finished it and thought it was great. I had been hearing loads of negative comments about it so wasnt sure what to expect. but i really enjoyed it.

Im playing it on an 19" lcd, so 1440x900 which im sure is a lot less stressful than you guys with 22 and 24" ones. I found it very smooth on high(windows XP) and there wasnt much performance hit changing the config files, so i did that. which i think adds some nice little touches.

well, I cant put any AA on :O and I just updated my drivers! and before, when I turned the shader quality to medium I wouldnt get any haze.. and the odd reflective effect would appear.. strange
 
Dear god, how long does this crap Abyss level go on for where yer floating about, its utter *****, reminds me of that crap Zen bit from HL1, ive got to some big chamber (comes up Legion), and he says something about all these things waking up, and theres just bloody like alien jelly fish after bloody crappy alien jelly fish keep coming in for me, and i can't go any ******* where, wtf is this garbage, how the hell do i get outa this crap. :confused:

lol i loved this level just listern to what he says the clues are there :p and just shoot anything that moves :D

I'll take a look cheers, ive just tried it again, and all he says is strickland if you can hear this, get everyone of the island these things are waking up, and thats it, and im just floating backwards and forwards aimlessley killing these bloody alien jelly fish that just keep coming in, and im now out of ammo, and the buggers are still coming, and ive nowhere to go.

Lol first of all just calm down and take it slow. It probably takes about 20 minutes to float through. Sit back and absorb the atmosphere. You don't have to shoot everything that moves either (and I didn't), since they rarely spot you even on Delta.
