The ongoing Elon Twitter saga: "insert demographic" melts down

I work with people with similar attitudes to Musk, they however are on the spectrum.. Very clever, but ultimately struggle with empathy and emotion, hardly a surprise, some CEOs are very much on the spectrum, it's what makes them successful, you can't let peoples feelings get in the way..

Musk is certainly on some spectrum. It isnt so much his struggle with empathy and emotion its the fact he is an twit.

i imagine it must be very hard to end up the richest man in the world (for no good reason he is the richest), and then the unfortunate result of having 100 million followers on twitter. both of those together will certainly be hard to avoid not turning into a twit.

the trouble comes that a twit on twitter is one issue. a twit owning twitter is another. imagine now all the politicians that have personal messages between other politicians or side chicks or side boys etc. elon now can read them and he doesn't seem like the type to care that it's private and off limits, and instead, can just "leak" what he finds out, taunt others via twitter, about what he's read on someone's private twitter messages.

lets say a politician wants to push a law to restrict tesla/spacex/twitter. and elon knows they person is having an affair. weird they'd do it via twitter but none the less, twitter will have every single message stored from the beginning of each account, even if it's been deleted.

elon can tell them, don't push this law else i'll expose you.

do we think he's the type? from how petty he has been, it wouldn't shock me.

It appears Twitter haven't filled to stop the trial with the Judge saying it's to still go ahead (https://www.marketwatch.com/story/j...usk-says-proceedings-will-continue-2022-10-05) regardless of Musk's recent urge to carry on with the purchase.

Maybe it's due to the recent rumours that talks between them on renegotiating the price, supposedly sparked on by the baling of some $1bn worth of financing, have failed, so it's just a middle-finger from Twitter.

You would think it'd be worth the $1bn settlement to just stop this absolute **** show of a merry-go-round...

Parag knows he's gonna get the boot anyway if it goes through after his tetchy correspondence/clear inability to work with his (possibly) future boss so he's probably not going to do Elon any favours here!

I think Parag's got his back up over Musk's Twitter "thinking" that permanent bans should be removed, as he suggests in one of the exchanges that it undermines the work Twitter are doing. It seemed to have spiralled from then on when Musk threw his toys out the pram and replied with "What did you get done this week?", "I’m not joining the board. This is a waste of time" and "Will make an offer to take Twitter private" texts.
As you say though, Twitter won't be doing Musk any favours.

Some of the exchanges are worth a read, especially the amount of brown nosing off other billionaires.

From what I understand, it was too late for that. Elon had committed to the full purchase.
Is that the case? As i've always assumed the agreement in place meant if Musk reneged on the deal, then he could at any time but would have to pay the billion

From memory, that was what he wanted to do, and twitter said no.

Else how could twitter go after him for the full amount he offered, the cost to take this to court, for them to just get 1 billion, is hardly worth it, and Elon was clearly about to lose the case too, and he forced to purchase.

If your theory is true, then the actions lately don't add up.

So it is just about him wanting to unban a certain person after all? Who would have thunk it.

You don't really add anything to conversations except pretending to be outraged at things do you? Like, which part do you disagree with? He's made a factual statement

Imagine to want someone to reply to you and then you start with a sentence like the above.

I understand though, it is hard to read nasty words directed at your daddy Elon :D

Except he's missing out the rather pertinent issue of Russia genociding anyone who disagrees with their claims like they have done for centuries, it's unacceptable for anyone to be this dumb.

Any claims on these areas beyond that which was agreed upon 30 years ago has been completely illegitimatised by the terror, disinformation and political interference pretending to be a consensus (sorry but having an FSB officer run a 'rebel' area is beyond transparent) inflicted upon people in those regions
