Going back a few pages.

In the West the international technocaratic and billionaire set seem to have a very a very large cohort that believe in common values often well ahead of mainstream opinion and we all know the topics. Topics that are exactly the kind of thing that get you "labelled" if you disagree with them. They have promoted these views and enforced these views through their ownership of either the levers of state or new and old media. I don't think this is a very wild suggestion. They can reasonably be called elite.
Just because others also share those values who aren't billionaires or don't have substantial formal or informal power to shape the public narrative doesn't mean an elite doesn't exist. We have seen time after time how these useful idiots of on and off Twitter pile on to hound wrong thinkers out of public life and act as enforcers for these beliefs. The rest of us are just being bullied into submission lest we out ourselves as apostates.

It's funny how they new religion is so like the old ones.

Kanye is nuts. He thinks he's some kind of messiah who speaks for every black person, not a surprise maybe when people have been telling him he's a genius for years. I can't take the fool seriously but what he says still has an effect, he's finding out right now that his words have cost him $bs. That guy in the TMZ video puts him in his box, there is an even longer version that makes Kanye look even worse. In my opinion as a non medical person, I think he has mental health issues, its like he's trying to destroy his own life piece by piece and no one close to him can either stop him or maybe those actually close to him don't care to stop him. Its probably going to end in tragedy though.
 
Well Kanye's mother appears to have been his rock and losing her has had a very negative effect on his mental stability though beyond that I can't tell what's made him so neurotic.

You do realise the companies that don't care what content is next to their products aren't going to pay the same as the ones that do? Why would they pay the same rates when the market is massively reduced by companies leaving Twitter? So Twitter ad revenue would drop dramatically.

I think there would be an initial drop in revenue as big companies pull out.

Then when they see nobody is going in to hysterics about it they will likely come back.

There is nearly 400 million people on Twitter. They are potential customers.

I'm sure there are many 2nd tier advertisers that would love the opportunity to get front and centre on Twitter.

Maybe Musk can nationally focus advertising to give local businesses in each country a chance to promote their businesses at a reasonable price.

Ahh, I wondered if that was the site being referred to.

The site is still up.

His website isn't unique. There are millions of people who use similar sites to that for legal reasons.

I think the issue with his site in particular is that it uses encryption, and governments these days are wanting to know everything about everyone.

I remember a few years ago the UK government was going to bring in a law to ban encryption. But then were surprised when big business complained to them that if they can't send document files over encrypted pathways then there is a greater chance of it being hacked. The government backed down.
 
Well Caracus2k will be happy Musk is now spreading the story Paul Pelosi was actually in some Tinder date gone bad. This is the same publication that said Hilary Clinton was dead and replaced by a body double before her debate with Trump. And of course the right are joyful and it just reinforces their belief this story is true. This is why putting a troll in charge of Twitter was such a bad idea. No attempt to calm things down, no, just throw a lorry load of petrol on the fire and stand back and watch.

 
Well he's just made it awkward for her as without being sued for libel it will only enhance the conspiracy though doubt she cares really being so close to the end.

Beyond that this just proves to advertisers that the platform isn't worth their time and he's done it in record time.

Let's face it, the liars and conmen are mostly all righties and the biggest proponent of cancel culture is a righty.

The thing is second tier advertisers are just that, second tier, and they don't pay as much as the top tier ones.
Also the "top tier" ones tend to not only be the best paying, but the biggest with the largest advertising budgets and usually a vast number of brands under their belts so you don't just chase off one brand but potentially everyhing owned by say P&G or Ford (so all the subsidiary companies)/
Oddly enough if you do something to chase them off, the second tier ones don't pay enough to make up for it, assuming you can even get them to want to use your spam and hate riddled platform.

Instead you end up with trash tier advertisers that bring in a fraction of what you were getting, as the likes of GAB and Truth Social have found out with their primary advertisers being the likes of dodgy "we can tell you where to buy the gold you'll need when the government comes for you", gun parts companies (not manufacturers, but aftermarket spares/adaptations) with their message of "you're arsenal of guns is useless if you don't have spare springs for it", the freeze dried survival ration and supplement market, and republican MAGA politicians.
Basically the sort of level of advertising you used to see on dodgy websites, but even more limited in their target market.

Basically you lose the top tier advertisers, you are stuffed unless you can somehow either cut the costs of running the service to match the reduced income (without making it even worse, or falling behind the other services that were not as good until you started messing up), are willing to throw money at it from your own pocket, can convince investors you have a plan to turn it around and to keep putting their money in, or turn it around before you run out of money.

It's sort of interesting seeing Musk making the same mistakes that have been made repeatedly by other companies/people who decided they must own a social network/internet product (myspace, yahoo etc), and it's going to be interesting to see how long he keeps it or, or sells it at a massive loss (or if he just lets it die because he isn't willing to admit he's not a super genius at all things).

The conspiracy theory is absolutely pathetic. It sounds like Pelosi's husband was doing all the right things to try and defuse the situation and form a connection with the person to try and humanise yourself in their eyes.

He found out his name, big deal. It's not beyond the realms of possibility that he used the fact he was elderly to convince the man to grant him a bathroom break, at which point he grabbed his mobile and called 911.

In 1982 an intruder entered the queen's bedroom and she reportedly spoke to the man for 10 minutes before help came.

Todays conspiracy would be that she was shagging him and a maid interrupted them.
