The ongoing Elon Twitter saga: "insert demographic" melts down

You've just illustrated why it is silly, what business plan?

Just because someone has dropped a few tweets about a potential product update doesn't mean some implementation details/issues haven't or won't be discussed.

As for dragon's den, he's been more successful in business than every dragon from dragon's den and shark from shark tank combined several times over.

Exactly dowie, what business plan. His plan seems to be sack everyone and refuse to pay them what they are owed, post a note to advertisers in the hope they don't panic (signs that hasn't worked) throw out random thoughts on his feed and see what the reaction is. When an account a with large following tells him to do one, lower the price and then say that is policy. If that is the best he could come up with in 6 months you have to wonder if he's given any thought to this at all. Its almost like he spent 5 months trying to get out of the deal and has come in with no idea what he's doing.

Bingo

He is discovering that twitter isnt his expertise.

I am interested to know how many users have deleted their accounts since his take over. It will likely be just an influx as a stand against the changes, but still curious to see the negative view the users have rather than the positive one he likely expected, and anyone would normally expect when someone like Elon takes over, given his history of what "good" he had done at Tesla and spacex.

Can you point out where Musk has mentioned that this is only a "potential" feature or update and is only kicking an idea around?

From his "Twitter thinking" and what is being reported by the press, he hasn't/they haven't mentioned any potentials or maybes or an inclination that they're simply kicking an idea around but rather it's a done deal in terms of what is being implemented, eg -

The only potential seems to be the price but only because he's flip-flopping over backlash from users. Sounds like they haven't really thought it through.

Why? What's wrong with announcing some upcoming product features?
No issue announcing an update, it's marketing-101.
What makes you look inept, especially as CEO, and increases uncertainty in the product and company is announcing an update and then retracting that partially within hours/days.
Businesses typically do all the fleshing out, discussions and research and, have something ready to go prior to announcing it to prevent all of this.

Saying that, this isn't new with Musk and he's done the same with Tesla and SpaceX - he says one thing but what actually transpires is either nothing or something lesser than what was originally announced. Musk-time is a perfect example of this.

It will all be exactly the same, except for getting the rich people on twitter with blue ticks to help foot the bill for his poor deal on buying it.

Yup, what would he know about business eh... I'm glad all these anon posters are able to better adivse him. Obviously, the only things Elon has considered are what he's tweeted about publicly. Yes he's taking a risk but as I said before some of this criticism is rather silly.

He shouldn’t have posted it in the first place.

That's a given, I'm addressing the commentary about him deleting it, I already told you that, you're commenting on the bit that no one here is questioning to begin with.
