LOL, he really has gone right down the right wing rabbit hole.

It is fascinating to watch.

I blame the left, the Uber judgemental high horse do no wrong types. Seen it happen to countless people who made a mistake. They get hounded by these uber lefties for not being perfect, demanding apologies which will never be enough and will try to ostracise said person. Said person gets comfort from the right, they are not being super judgmental and they lean into it. Uber lefties go “told you so, he was always a piece of ****”, and person leans more and more into the right.

Not saying that’s what happened to musk but seen happen in real time one time too many.

Whereas the uber right prefer to attack people with hammers and storm government buildings, attempting to subvert democratic proceedings.

I agree with you. The right are way worse. I wasn’t trying to make a left v right thing, just what I’ve observed of some otherwise normal people being pushed to the right. It doesn’t help the left, self defeating actions.

And accuse everyone and anyone on the other side of the aisle of being "groomers" including their latest boogeyman, drag artists. And surprise surprise someone shoots up a club where drag artists perform killing 5 and injuring 25 others.

Thought the discussion on chinx - drill artist, whose content has been restored on Meta platforms epitomizes the verification problem,
this guy does not show his face/identity on the videos he produces that could incite violence - yes - you could say Banksy's output is equally controversial.

verification just follow weibo and their monetization strategy

Weibo Verification

Given that there are a large number of celebrities, media workers, enterprises or even government authorities opening accounts on Sina Weibo. Weibo uses a verification policy to avoid impersonation and ensure authentic information sharing (similar to Twitter’s verified accounts). Celebrities’ accounts are given an orange “V” badge, while organizations and companies’ accounts have a blue “V” badge. Aside from the “V”, a verification title will be shown on a users’ profile to describe the users’ identity.

There are several types of verifications, such as individual verification (celebrity, politicians, etc.), organization verification (government departments, social media platforms, and brands, etc.) or any account that is of public interest. The real-name certification is useful to differentiate micro-influencers and authorities from ordinary users

Weibo VIP membership
Weibo launched a paid VIP membership scheme in 2012, which allows users to “upgrade” their profile functionality. The VIP membership is split into 7 stages, from VIP 1 to VIP 7, members would need to gain “growth value” to “upgrade” their VIP status.
With a regular monthly membership (¥10/month), you would get 10 growth value points a day. While Annual members (¥108/year) enjoy 15 growth value points/day. Each time you pay for a one-year membership, you get an extra 200 growth value points as a reward.

So how does VIP membership improve your profile’s functionality? Below let’s see some of the VIP privileges:

Exclusive customer care, a dedicated customer service team for VIP members
Increased the limit of the maximum number of users can block and “quietly” follow (you won’t appear on their follower list and they won’t appear on your following list)
“Priority Referral”, more opportunities to appear in recommendation homepage
Customizable cover image, exclusive templates, and special badges

I love how he never names a single group and just expects people to believe him.

What a ****.
There is a user that spreads this stuff in this thread.

Elon spreads CT, that users posts the tweet on here.

Elon blames activists, that user starts blaming activists.

I won't say his name as I'm afraid he'll be like beetlejuice and appear when mentioned too much.

Can't keep blaming the woke mob when this is what you actual advertisers are currently experiencing.

I had my team keep our campaigns live for 2 weeks post-takeover on the bet that efficiency would improve with fewer advertisers and the risks were managed and probably overblown. I was wrong and I think the things we saw in these last 2 weeks means many more advertisers will bail on the platform in the coming weeks (for non-ideological or virtue signaling reasons):

Performance fell significantly. CPMs didn’t drop but our engagement went way down. Maybe it’s a shift in users on the platform, maybe it’s ad serving related.

Serious brand safety issues. Our organic social and CS teams got dozens of screenshots of our ads next to awful content. Replies to our posts with hardcore antisemitism and adult spam remained up for days even when flagged.
Our entire account team turned over multiple times in 2 weeks. We had multiple people (AE, AM, analyst, creative specialist) supporting our account and they all vanished without so much as an email. We finally got an email with a name for an AM last week but they quit and we don’t have a new one yet.

Ads UI is very buggy and login with SSO and 2FA broken. One of my campaign managers logged in last week and found all our paused creatives from the past 6 years had been reactivated. Campaign changes don’t save. These things cost us real money.

Also it's a free market economy, if a business says I won't do business with you if you do this. Then you go ahead and do it. Don't whine about it after
