I'm sure you read the research behind the article you're defending

450 new Islamic State accounts were found in the first 12 days of Musk’s takeover, as compared to 267 accounts over the 12 days prior. During that time, Twitter’s takedown rate of these accounts stayed at 27 and 28 per cent respectively. In essence, the same.

So essentially, some new accounts were set up, either by real people or bot accounts, and Twitter removed them at the same rate as they previously did before Musk took over. So I'm not sure what the actual point of the article is, the moderation has stayed the same, except seemingly with Musk being proactive, but it's outside his control if groups set up accounts at an increased rate. What's the criticism being leveled at him exactly? That people are allowed to set up new accounts? lol

Where is the evidence its bot accounts other than Elon saying it was? Of course people's behaviour has changed when he's allowed accounts that were banned for saying heius things back on Twitter. Lots has changed, he's sacked the teams that moderated, he has done away with misinformation on covid being highlighted. He stand as the ultimate voice on what is and isn't acceptable. And he admits in that article that hate speech spiked because of Kanye's comments.

The Anti-Defamation League, which files regular reports of antisemitic tweets to Twitter and keeps track of which posts are removed, said the company had gone from taking action on 60 percent of the tweets it reported to only 30 percent.

“We have advised Musk that Twitter should not just keep the policies it has had in place for years, it should dedicate resources to those policies,” said Yael Eisenstat, a vice president at the Anti-Defamation League, who met with Mr. Musk last month. She said he did not appear interested in taking the advice of civil rights groups and other organizations.

“His actions to date show that he is not committed to a transparent process where he incorporates the best practices we have learned from civil society groups,” Ms. Eisenstat said. “Instead he has emboldened racists, homophobes and antisemites.”

From the article you linked the rate at which accounts were closed remains the same, so why do you think there's a lack of moderation?

Well he sacked a big chunk of the team and there are reports, including in that article from the ADL and in others from the likes of the ACLU and SPLC that tweets aren't being removed at the same rates as before after being reported. I quoted it, did you not bother reading it?

Even though "hate speech" is <0.1% of all content, and a lot of that is bots, by looking at the graphs Elon keeps releasing there is less of it now than ever, advertisers are leaving. Makes you wonder..

Yes the graphs Elon is releasing with no data to back it up. Why not release the underlying data so experts in this field can back up his statements?

Why give Andrew Anglin of Daily Stormer fame his account back? The man is openly and proudly a nazi and white supremacist and spends his life spreading hate. What is it achieving? Is he going to change because he's been let back on after 9 years? Of course he won't, he will push and push the boundaries until he gets banned again and in that time will spread his hateful message.
