The ongoing Elon Twitter saga: "insert demographic" melts down

Lol 90 percent cheers. Remember when trump was telling us how when he came to the UK everyone loved him too? Ignoring the 99 percent boos he got lol.

And what's funnier, if it was only 10 percent boos, why did Elon just leave like some thin armed small penis energy guy? Was that it? Go on stage, wave and walk off? Or did he have more planned that he knew he'd be booed greater if he started to say it?

There are blatantly tons of people who dislike him just for the blue tick nonsense. These two girls at work who are not even remotely politically minded were moaning about how they kept getting fooled by blag Kpop accounts and how Twitter is now ruined because of this lol

Edit, oops was indended for other thread, eek.

I just don't care, sorry bud I know you're passionate about supporting the injured in war, Invictus and whatnot but family comes first so live happily alone with them.

If that's not good enough then welcome to the world of fame, it's both incredible and truly awful. Neither of you are talented enough to have it both ways, eg making huge sources of income that doesn't make you a media whore, enough to support all your charitable aspirations and live a normal private family life.

Still the best post in the thread tbh

I wonder what % of people in that Dave Chappelle audience were Tesla owners or potential customers. Probably quite high and if they are booing Elon what does that say about Tesla's potential future sales.

He better let that sink in otherwise he's going to destroy two companies for the price of one

I know someone who had deposits down for the Cyber Truck and solar roof, but canceled noth recently.

I was hoping to buy a Tesla X in a year or two but Musk's insanity has certainly made me think twice, and i suspect when it comes to to buy there will be more competition.

I'm confused - the lefties were booing. Are these the same lefties that were protesting chapelle being on Netflix? Why would they go to his gig?
I'm confused - Musk was apparently going around banning all these accounts that were there taking the micky out of him and yet here we are and it's still up..

Also, why do you seem to think people within one group would all agree on everything?

I used to watch his channel, to begin with he was quite good but for me he's strayed into CT. He isn't a doctor, he was a nurse and has a PHD in nursing. The problem from what I've seen of actual experts in the field speaking about his videos is, on many occasions he doesn't understand what he is talking about but talks like he does and that is a very dangerous thing. His misinformation on ivermectin is just one example of him either just being out of his depth or having a more sinister reason. He has also done several videos on aspirating when giving vaccine injections, this can scare people getting vaccines if the person doesn't aspirate, when aspiration isn't necessary. His channel has grown massively over the last year as he's moved more and more towards covid sceptic audience. Just read the comments, its dominated by anti vax and covid CT believers.
As stated, I only used the videos as they present the reports in an easily digestible manner, I didn't think the concepts would be something subject to his opinions, I could have just linked to the reports.

Using a Senate report as proof is weak. They aren't doctors or scientists and its a political body. We need peer reviewed papers on this before we will know.
The report states:
Over the last fifteen months, HELP Committee Minority oversight staff carefully reviewed several hundred publicly available scientific studies, interviewed several dozen subject matter experts, and analyzed previous reports and studies on the possible origins of the virus. I believe that this report provides a significant contribution to the existing body of evidence and helps establish parameters for how future analyses should be reviewed.

We aren't going to be getting any peer reviewed papers, how could any exist either way? all we have is a balance of evidence, somewhat hampered by the RPC, but that report is a summary of all that is publically known to date.. If you have something more definitive, I'd love to see it.

Because that would be an idiotic thing to do.

Not only do I not have access to the kind of information that would be required to come to any kind of conclusion on anything to do with this topic, I'm not in any way qualified to understand that information, even if I had access to it.

Just like retired nurse John Campbell...

Anyone who holds a strong opinion on something that they're not even close to being qualified to understand, is almost certainly suffering from the Dunning Kruger effect.

Anyway, hundreds of actual qualified experts have watched and debunked many of the claims in his videos; I would suggest that it's wisest to defer to those individuals if you wish to avoid becoming a victim of medical misinformation.
If we just take the senate report, you don't need to be qualified to understand the information, it's meant to be digestible by mere mortals like us...

I’ve made no mention of the senate report or anything else.

I simply explained that I thought it was unwise to choose to reference videos by someone with his level of notoriety for posting covid related misinformation as evidence of anything at all; and I stand by that point.

If you’ve read anything else into my responses during this particular exchange then you’re mistaken.

Also, your final sentence suggests to me that you might not be completely clear on what the Dunning Kruger effect actually is. Where exactly do you think I have overestimated my own ability due to my lack of expertise?
