Why isn't he? I'm not sure how that relates to your previous post that he'd keep not keep his verification unless he's paid... if it's reported that he has paid then that's presumably an explanation for a blue checkmark with different text on it no? If he hadn't paid then it would be a blue checkmark with the regular text no?

Musk has repeatedly played with the blue checkmark text, and shown he's more than happy to waste twitter resources in playing silly games.

Well they clearly were blocked because links to Substack weren't working. It doesn't matter how they were blocked, if they were stopped from working at Twitter's end, they were blocked.

Elon getting his childish dig in at the end, charging for your Substack doesn't make you an employee.

Yes he has, that doesn't really clear anything up, AFAIK the blue checkmark and regular text would ordinarily appear in this case.

Because I don't believe Obama would give in to Elon's blackmail, why would he? He is fully aware that Elon has no choice but to hand out these checkmarks to such people or he'd be in a world of pain with impersonations. Its only taken him several botched attempts to get here.

This is the first time I've seen this tweet, and aside from my delight at Weinstein's dismay, I must express my scepticism about Musk's claim, for which he has not offered a shred of evidence. Moreover, he has not really addressed Weinstein's concerns.

I've never come across him before but this tweet doesn't make me think he's that credible.

yeah those well known "treatments" that aren't treatments and never were. And the lab leak still hasn't been proven, vaccines are safe for all but a tiny percentage and even those cases the effects are largely treatable.

Apparently the head of Substack has denied that Walsh worked for them, and that any access to twitter was as per their long term understanding of what was allowed.

Now my wild guess is that
Musk doesn't understand what Substack is and doesn't understand that the people that write on Substack don't write for substack.
Re the allegation of the downloading Twitter I'm going to guess that Musk doesn't understand how the old API's work or what people did with them, and may have made some change to the rules but not actually published them properly.

We know that he's certainly effectively lying about the "not blocking" the links given he's blocked the ability to interact with tweets with them, which is effectively a block.

Weinstein is a notorious COVID grifter, he's been pushing lies and pseudoscience pretty much since the pandemic began.
