I can see the rationale in pretending something is new when it's not and getting all the terminally stupid people to think it's shiny again, but uhh there's a lot of social engineering being lost with making 'tweeting' irrelevant to the point that people just stop talking about it merely because it's now confusing.

Indeed. Imagine Google deciding to rename their search engine to something like "W" (stands for web)

What a dumb move that'd be.

Can't fully judge as we are yet to fully see what will be changed, but from what I'm hearing, it sounds beyond stupid.
