The ongoing Elon Twitter saga: "insert demographic" melts down

Better question is how much did Russia & China pay for it

and/or his Saudi paymasters.

I heard an interesting idea yesterday. That any company that uses an algorithm to promote content on its platform loses section 230 protection as it is no longer just a publisher. So OCUK would keep that protection as it doesn't promote any content. Twitter, Facebook and the rest of them would lose it unless they end their current practice.

That's actually quite a good idea, would also capture the likes of youtube and tikitok under the umbrella as well

The irony is that Musk previously promised to expand this department. Now he's gutting it. The justification? Right here in this sub-zero IQ tweet:

I don't get how Elon has become so bad at PR now.

I'm no PR pro, but can easily reword the situation to appear much better.

Imagine instead of just saying like he has, he instead says something like the following

"we've got ride of the entire election integrity team due to a lack of trust in their work. This is due to a mix of the previous over reach of the team, or even an lack of input at previous elections, however the public no longer trust the team which undermines the good work that they are trying to do, so unfortunately they had to go. We will be replacing with a new service, one that the public can have more faith will present a fairerore neutral result."

Instead, he just has to go and appear even more like a lunatic that has no clue what he's doing

You have some attachment to reality, and people who tell you if you're being stupid in your job, and hopefully that you're destroying the value of your property if you start knocking down load bearing walls in your house.

Musk has no one he will listen to when they give him any information he doesn't agree with, mainly because he's got rid of anyone below him who disagreed with him and at best has a bunch of "yes men", at worst he's got people who are actively encouraging him in his mistakes as it furthers their own ends.
He comes across as the kind of guy who upon getting told by half a dozen reputable building companies that they won't do X to a property without getting an engineering report/architect in, goes out and hires a couple of day labourers and gives them sledgehammers and then laughs off the disaster as "well it was a risk, and I was going to rebuild anyway".

I don't think he was ever really that good at PR himself, but previously always tended to either have people who assisted him (and he had to use them because he wasn't the only boss), or he could bluff his way through things with nice little nonsense sound bites like "we'll move fast and break things" to explain why things tended to go wrong in public tests when other companies in the same industry tended to have fewer public unexpected rapid disassembly moments (because they would have to explain to their shareholders why they'd just blown up millions of dollars of equipment because they didn't want to wait).

Was the election integrity team the same people who banned the Hunter Biden story, unironically destroying the integrity of the last election? Surprised they were still at the company to be honest.

Yeah Hunter's penis would have won that election of it wasn't for Twitter and their integrity team.

Elon is the perfect example of how power corrupts. Power has corrupted his mind. His Tweet saying he's going to the border to "see it for himself" earlier this week. If he wants to be a politician he should stand for election, he'd probably win, if he doesn't he should stay out of it, what is he going to do at the border when he gets there? Neither party can solve the problem, arguably Republicans don't want to solve it as its a vote winner, just like Roe was a vote winner for Democrats. He is inserting himself in partisan politics because why? Ego. The man believes his own hype.

Do you mind explaining?

I thought sexual promiscuity and perversions, along with breaking the law were vote winners?

Are you saying Biden would have won by even more because he had a son that gets up to a small fraction of the misdeeds that his competitor has?

As far as I can tell (based on their love for Trump) Biden's son must be seen as mega cool by the GOP.

That is literally it, "the big guy" is all you and the Republicans have. They've wasted how much money and time investigating this and all they have is that phrase linking Joe Biden to anything.

It's not really me, I just take a passing interest in this stuff, it's pretty obvious the big guy is taking bribes though and this was covered up. No worries though, maybe just deflect onto Trump instead.

Hunter Biden is irrelevant. It is telling that you’re now onto this, get out of the basement

I own my house thanks, I'm also a big guy
