What did she say that were stupid and or inaccurate?

Though stupidity outside your job is rarely a reason to be dismissed.

If you need to ask then we can't explain it but let me try.

Stating republicans should not be persecuted because of their views is perfectly reasonable and would not result in being sacked from a very public acting role
Stating the republicans being persecuted on social media is just like being a Jew during the holocaust, is outright stupid, incorrect and insulting the memory of millions of victims.

Republicans being shunned and or confronted on social media for their views, is not remotely comparible to a mass genocide.
  • They are not being evicted from their homes and forced to flee persecution as a refugee
  • Forced to wear an identification badge
  • Forced in to concentration camps
  • Gassed and murdered in their millions as part of a mass genocide.
So equating someone being mean to you on social media ≠ mass genocide... does that help put her sacking into some context?

I guess it can be argued that it's stupid to argue publically with your employers customers, especially when you've probably got a contact that says not to do things along those lines.
It's also probably going to end up with Disney arguing that:
A: She was on a contract with no guarantee of any further work on the series past the initial time.
B: The contract had a clause about bringing the company into disrepute.
C: Forcing them to rehire her is infringing Disney's First Amendment rights and point to the decisions that companies had them (IIRC the Republicans spent a fortune to make sure that companies didn't have to do things like print signs they didn't agree with, or decorate cakes), and that if they had to hire her back it would be forced speech (another one that IIRC the republicans have taken to court in the past).

If she was like a lot of the other people in a similar situation then Disney has probably also got documentation of her causing issues on set with regards to safety precautions that were in place at the time (some of which were IIRC legally mandated).

Disney not only have a huge amount of money to deal with litigation, they also have not only a load of lawyers that are in house and on retainer, and they're the sort of lawyers that apparently are extremely good to the point where other lawyers who've faced them in court know even if they don't win a case against Disney it's likely to be a learning experience.

Wasn't asking for context, I was just asking for some quotes she said that was stupid. What did she say that meant all of this?

I’ve stated in my post already and the fact you replied to it should indicate you read it. The reason for her sacking was also in the linked news article. So either you didn’t understand, or feel her claims was not controversial (it’s not even a matter for opinion quite frankly).

Do you agree with her comparing the experience of being an outspoken republican to being a Jew during the holocaust?

I'd say the analagy was over the top, but it should not have been something she was sacked over.

I am no lawyer but I would imagine her argument will come down to the fact she was "fired" for some very carefully worded statements that don't fit the Hollywood message on the right of centre political opinion. Meanwhile her co-stars were not chastised for very on message, for Hollywood statements, that were far more inflamatory on the left of political opinion.

One assumes it will be descrimination on the basis of first amendments rights but i'm no expert just a stab in the dark.

Then you’d be wrong.

Having a right wing or left wing opinion is perfectly fine. It is the stupidity of comparing the life of being an outspoken republican to life as a Jew during the holocaust. That is not remotely a carefully worded statement by any stretch of the imagination.

It is disrespecting the memory of millions of people who died in a genocide.

Is comparing modern America to the Holocaust ok?

lol at all the poor right wing gammons getting upset. I do love seeing their pathetic responses where they think a laughing emoji is a valid response. It just highlights the level of utter stupidity they operate at.

Oh come on, the cavalry will be here soon to back you up doing exactly the same thing.

Dehumanising people to pieces of meat is very mature too.

If I were someone who had just lost his business a bunch of advertisers due to perceived anti-semitism, I probably wouldn’t bankroll someone who got fired for downplaying the holocaust.

How ironic.

I think a lot of things happened to the Jews in the 1930s prior to outright death camps, they didn't go from running businesses and being normal members of society to being dragged out of their homes and gassed. They were demonised and persecuted, while I don't think it's the best analogy, I can at least see where she's coming from.
