See the issue here is that we're talking about a political movement who has spent decades obstructing what their electors want even when they have control over every level of government, I'd say that calls for demonisation and persecution frankly.

I agree completely. Likewise, it was right to compare things Donald Trump said during his presidency to early, pre holocaust Nazi rhetoric. I mean, he hasn’t gassed people in chambers yet, but a lot of things happened to Jews prior to them being murdered en masse, so you can see where those criticisms were coming from right?

This is a very tongue in cheek comment, but I’m sure if I were to do a quick search, your positions have always been consistent on the matter haven’t they?

What is being ignored, or missed entirely by those defending Gina Carano, is that she has had previous contentious social media posts that did not result in her being sacked. So her views were tolerated for a long time as having right wing views is not a sackable offense of course.

What finally got her sacked was comparing outspoken Republicans being verbally abused on social media, to the persecution of Jews during the holocaust.

Yes the words so scary that she felt to compare it to the way Jews were treated. You and I both know the words she was sent went that bad, but she was so soft and flakey she needed to compare them to Jews in 1930s. Rather weak of her.

I disagree. Elon will win too in that he gets to play his little game os creating us vs them, while now her name gets to be dragged through the mud further. We will now hear that it was more than just one tweet, but that she was difficult to work with, stuck up, a cow, people don't like working with her, arrogant, you name it, it'll all be public soon and in the news. poor actress, not sure what sort of work she'd look to get after this case makes her appear bad to work with. She will be the new amber heard, and Elon gets to finance this.

I think it's key to add, that whatever the straw that broke the camels back, there is likely a big heavy pile of other things too that came before this and added to one of the many reasons they wanted her gone.

It's really a simple situation surely. I can't see how OCUK wouldn't react the same if say for instance, a member of their team was on this forum and known as OCUK staff, and they were causing NG arguments online and then moaning that they are being prosecuted just like the Jews. Pretty sure that user would be removed from OCUK staff as it'll likely be in in their contract not to cause issues for the company. Heck even mods probably have a code they have to stick to and if they cause issues for OCUK company, they won't be a mod any more.

Please can you quote where in her tweet below where she said "republican" at any point - When you can't, because she didn't, then you've proven yourself to be full of misinformation and just outright lies, because she never, ever, EVER mentioned any political party, side, faction etc in that tweet no matter how much you lie about it as quoted numerous times above.

What I don't understand is why you, along with so many, just feel that you HAVE to lie all the time, about almost everything, when just a simple 10 second Google proves you to be a liar time after time. Do you think people won't google this stuff, do you think people are thick and will just accept your "facts" without checking them?

Just the outright arrogance to think that you can lie so openly, without even a hint of shame, is just amazing to me but I suppose thats probably because my parents actually cared enough that they did a good job raising me.

I don't know about that. I don't think this was a case of the straw that broke the camels back, Gina had a long history of contentious social media posts from mocking people who wore masks during covid, to repeating the lie that the 2020 US election was stolen. This was over a period of many months (or even years) and none of these got her sacked and nor should they.

She got sacked for that one single social media post comparing people (obvioulsy meaing republicans) being "persecuted for their political views" (they aren't), to Jews being dragged from their homes and beaten (sometimes to death). It is a totally idiotic comparison and on its own was enough to get anyone sacked.

Wow, way to miss the entire point and ignore the rest of the backstory because Carano had actually stated she was harrased for months for her republican right wing political views and ultimately culminated in that post. The fact Carano is and was a very outspoken Republican with very right wing conservative views, means it is hardly a leap to conclude she was referring to some perceived "persecution" of Republicans with her stupid comparison. It also would not have mattered had she been a Democrat liberal, the comparison she made was utterly wrong and disrespectful to millions of jews murdered during a terrible period in history.

Such a very poor attempt at deflection and so typical to try and excuse contemptible behaviour. But then again I was brought up to recognise ******** and deflection when I see it.

Indeed. Next he will be telling us that when trump said the election was stolen, he didn't mean it was stolen form the republicans as he never technically said the word republican, which can only be a point you come to if you ignore everything that came before it.

It is so strange though that Elon wanted to get involved in this. Maybe he fancies himself a bit of the strong thicker ladies these days.

It Is completely irrelevant which political party she was referring to - perhaps she realized all the republicans calling democrats ******** or commies wasn't z good look - but that fact that she likened that to the Jewish holocaust is utterly insulting. Disney is well within their rights to terminate at-will contracts with anyone who might bring the brand's reputation into disrepute.
