The ongoing Elon Twitter saga: "insert demographic" melts down

Elon 'resist the woke' Musk has introduced a pronoun policing policy.

[...]

But he's applying it selectively, to protect his favourite accounts.

[...]

No, I think you've misread as that doesn't follow.

The first tweet talks about visibility - i.e. the priority of stuff re: appearing on the timeline as dictate by the algo.

The second tweet is talking about not being suspended for it.

Those are different things, there's nothing to show anything selective about the application there i.e. if you misgender someone in a tweet deliberately you take a hit in the algo for that tweet but you won't be suspended for it.

Edit - separate to that whether some accounts will have some additional protection because they're Elon's favorites is obvs an open question and quite possibly the case, likewise he wants to be seen as pro-free speech so has reversed the bans of some leftist accounts that were prominent and generated some visible complaints/appeals to him.

They used to be friends and he obvs made a big public tweet supporting Tesla and now, well, there's this public dispute.

There is an interesting parallel with the Elon court case, OpenAI is a Dellaware company too and Elon got grief over his appointment of board members re: his comp deal, is he perhaps going to try similar arguments re: Sam's appointments of board members and the change in structure to include a profit-making element and the deal with Microsoft.

Obvs Elon was one of the main backers of OpenAI at the beginning and then took a step back due to the conflict of interest with his own AI developments with Tesla, not that they competed with OpenAI directly in terms of products but just talent pool/recruiting (current OpenAI CTO is ex Tesla for example). And now he is directly competing with twitter/X.com see; Grok and xAI.

Well now Elon has his own for profit AI he doesn't want any competition.

You seem genuinely obsessed with me
"you can reply to anyone else no need to reply to me" or some other such nonsense that you said the other day.

I'm not sure how you've got so confused here where I'm literally replying to someone else saying you can post whatever Elon stuff you want here, even if they think it's laughable.

Talking of obsessed, do you still think we have a private WhatsApp group where we plan our latest posts against you or has this idea gone from your head?

Genuinely think this is the root cause of Elon's lawsuit.

Other wise why hasn't Elon just simply made his own "for the People" ai?

Hopefully the SC see sense and give him the immunity that he and the world needs as all of these crimes he has supposed to have committed seem to go nowhere. Very strange.

What utter drivel.
Well done that must have taken some doing.

The cases against him are not doing well, the last 3 to make it to court he has lost.
He now needs to find around $600M to pay for the losses, or to appeal them.
Hes now not allowed to act as a business within new york.

The other cases are fighting and shuffling around but sooner or later hes going to court and hes almost certain to lose in them as well.

Plus, it would be absurd to think a president was above the law. Truly, utterly, absurd.

The community notes are hilarious. Elon gets his arse handed to him every post he makes.

He will remove it for his own posts soon as he’s just much of baby to ever admit when he’s wrong.

Can somebody explain why calling somebody what they want to be called is so awful for you? What exactly is the problem. It doesn’t impact your life at all.

None of this makes any sense? Has long covid turned your brain to mush?
Your post offers no value to the conversation, is insulting, and doesn't even make sense.

It isn't a difficult position to understand that most Americans on the Republican side tend to be pro capitalist and individually minded. Why do you think they want guns?? Because they don't trust the government.

Trump is the personification of the American capitalist individual.

You're the first Trump supporter on here that I've experienced being personally insulting.

Republicans express intensely negative views of “socialism” and highly positive views of “capitalism.”

Trump is a crony, not a capitalist.
