The ongoing Elon Twitter saga: "insert demographic" melts down

I don't hate Trump, I just don't like malignant narcissists. They aren't nice people.

You have an issue with a parent being a parent? My mum stayed at home when we were young, worked part time as we got a bit older. What is wrong with that? Does that mean you aren't allowed an opinion on the richest in society and how much they contribute? I'll never quite understand your defence of the mega rich, you almost seem to idolise them. You've accused me of being jealous of Elon's money because I criticise him, I wonder if you aren't envious.

Nothing is wrong with staying at home looking after small children, you don't need to be so self righteous and moralise everything. Elon Musk has paid the most tax out of any individual ever, so if you're going to have the luxury and privilege of staying at home and raising your children, perhaps appreciate what others have contributed rather than complaining like an entitled brat that they haven't paid more, when you've paid essentially nothing comparatively.

Unwashed potato (with an exclamation mark for God knows what reason) attacks me and one of my posts, Colonel Sanders turns a post about Twitter and Facebook into one about Trump. I wonder if unwashed potato!!!! hates me more than Klinck hates Trump - probably not

I've just seen someone on Facebook who's profession was listed as 'stay at home parent' for 5 years without a hint of irony criticise the amount of tax Elon Musk has paid, which poster on here is it?
Jesus I don't even know where to begin by this outburst of yours.

Stop being so paranoid about others. I don't hate you. Your posts are the most entertaining in this time of serious issues in the world, it's nice to have a thread that is not to be taken too seriously and is essentially mostly just have some fun about the poor rich man doing stupid mistakes. Elon is big enough to take it. Don't take it so seriously you'll benefit to lighten up.

Also if you have an issue with my user name this is so so pety. You're really picking on the fact there is an exclamation mark! Lighten up my old man. If you really must know, I called someone an unwashed potato! And the mods saw an opportunity to have some fun so changed my name. Nothing sinister about it. Has that calmed down your reaction to my username?

Also "attacked you". Such a victim of late roar. I literally pointed out likes mean nothing and can be people laughing at rather than laughing with. You don't need to act such a victim of all this abuse. It isn't there. No one hates you and no one wants your posts removed.

You were the one digging out someone who stayed out home and so wasn't in your opinion in a position to criticise Elon. For all you know he/she who chose to stay at home and be a parent could be making a significant sacrifice money or career wise to do so.

Imagine the richest person in the world paying the most tax  What a shocking thing for him to have to bare. Alexa... please order box of Kleenex for Elon, love Roar.

LOL OpenAI are pushing back with their side - Elon himself told them they'd need to seriously ramp up investment to compete with google... but Elon was really hoping that that would mean teaming up with Tesla, instead, years later, they've teamed up with Microsoft:

That is genuinely funny. He really is a child and the toys are flying. He'll spend the next 48 hours posting memes to make himself feel better.

Not digging at them for staying at home, digging at them for staying at home and criticising someone else for not paying enough tax.

For all you know he/she who chose to stay at home and be a parent could be making a significant sacrifice money or career wise to do so.

Okay, so they have chosen to give up a career where they'd perhaps pay a lot of tax so they can stay at home, yet are criticising someone for not paying enough? How don't you understand this point?

It's not shocking, but the culture seems to be that we're angry at rich and successful people because we think they should be doing more, while ignoring the fact that they have still done untold magnitudes more than the vast majority ever will.

You called it...

Musk was better when he was all about EV battery tech and open cycle rocket engines instead of memes and tin foil hat cat keyboard dribbling.

Edit - Because it's memes and GD...

You don't lose your right to criticise just because you are a stay at home parent.

Do the mega wealthy pay enough in regards to their actual wealth. £8k to someone earning £40k is going to hurt a lot more than someone paying £40m on £100m, if they even pay that much after their accountants have used every loophole in the tax code to lower it.

No it is not. Where are people calling other billionaires douches just because they are rich? Well apart from the anti vax loons who think Bill Gates is sterilizing people where as he is actually trying to prevent cervical cancer risks for future generations of women. I don't care how much money people earn, I know several guys that are earning 7+ figures and fair play to them, they've worked hard and been blessed with the brains/drive and got some luck along the way. I think they shouldn't be getting tax breaks your average person doesn't get because they can't afford the lawyers to find them for them.

Elon gets so much stick because he can be an idiot. Posting insane stuff without thought to the possible consequences. Like the internet isn't crazy enough and causing enough serious divisions in society without him pouring petrol on it for laughs and likes and that's me being generous and assuming he hasn't some more sinister motives for his behavior and stoking divisions.

Praising mega rich people for paying tax is like praising a glutton for having a big dump.

They don't 'be rich' because they get to pay taxes for the good of the world, paying taxes is just something unpleasant they have to do if they earn obscene amounts of money.

Well, you kind of do in a serious way realistically. Sat on the coach watching Frozen while criticising Elon Musk or Jeff Bezos is pretty laughable actually. It's worse than the bloke down the pub shouting at Erling Halaand for missing a shot I would say.

if they don't then you should look at the Policians. How ever I would say every penny Elon Musk gives to the US government is a waste of money given what they spend it on compared to him investing it into one of his companies.

I kind of just switch off when people criticise Elon Musk on here though, it's this weird irrational hatred that gets directed at certain people because it has been decided they're not morally righteous, and it's always based on just a public persona.

Elon Musk is allowed to post memes, he's allowed to have a political opinion, he's allowed to talk about crazy things, he's allowed to be wrong. You need to deal with that, he isn't elected, none of you are his boss, he will simply continue to do and say whatever the hell he wants.

But that's what you add due to the person being a woman.

It was nothing to do with what colonel said, but you had to add this bit that the women is some lazy person sat in the couch watching frozen.

Enlightening

Colonel says stay at home people can critise the rich for not paying enough taxes, and you add that as it's a women, they can't because they watch frozen and sit on a couch.

You see the sexism you add automatically thst had nothing to do with the point.

Now, if you could just point out where I used the word woman? You might struggle with that given it was a bloke.

I use to follow him (on Twitter) quite a lot a decade or so ago when the Falcon 9 was beginning to see success, and he was mostly posting about Tesla and SpaceX and answering geeky questions on rocket engines - he answered a few from me.
His memeing seems a lot more recent but, whatevs i guess...
