The Pascal GTX 1070 Owners Thread

I have recently upgraded to a gamerock (non premium) 1070 thanks in part to advice in this thread. At the time i was advised to updrage my psu asap and was wondering. Is the super flower green 450w on offer atm for £45 a reasonable option. As well as the 1070 i have an i5 2500k. Trying to keep costs down as would like to purchase my first ssd and not stray too much beyond 100 quid. (the 1070 took some major saving)

Quick update on the strix 1070 oc i got.
this was with a 6700k @ 4.6ghz
and g-skill ram @3334MHz(if it makes any difference)

Did a quick firestrike run on default settings and it scored 16048

Graphics:19048
Physics score: 14684
Combined score:7860

core topped out at 2012MHz and temps topped out at 63 degrees, this is the card out of the box, with nothing changed by me.........might try oc'ing it in future but i dont really feel the need at the moment :)

Having more experience now, how is the Strix card compared to the Zotac?

I run an overclocked CPU/GPU on 450w so don't worry if you need to go for the 450w one.

1070 has a recommended system power of 500W mate, however, Evga's got a 500W one for the same money:

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/evga-500w-80-plus-power-supply-100-w1-0500-kr-ca-010-ea.html

I'd take a superflower green over that though at least the green is of good to excellent quality whereas the Evga is of questionable quality, 450w good watts over 500 bad ones!

eh...I'm not really a fan of watch dogs. This might actually encourage me to try and get a 1080 before the 29th (when this kicks in right) so I can get the gears of war.

I feel sorry for the people who got paragon points.

I got nothing with mine but at least I've had it for the last 3 months :) I got it when it was rather cheap too.

Well after spending an hour figuring out what the hell was going on with my system when I installed the new card - not powering on, random resets, crashes - and tracking it down to my new displayport cable being faulty - I can confirm that the Amp Extreme is indeed awesome :D.

Just been playing 1440p Doom at ultra and 100+ FPS. tasty.

Now to see what other undiscovered eye candy I have in my gaming library!

Enjoy the card. :p
I wouldn't bother OC the card. I have just run the Division BM and was getting 1-3 fps difference. It depends on the game also.

I am thinking I am getting old as I cannot see a difference between 1080P to 4K on newer games on my XB280HK. Which I run @1440p on desktop. But for GOW4 maybe a slight difference if I look had enough. Mine heats up to 69c max in ROTTR SWBF most older games 50+

What rig hsve you got?

I've had myself a Zotac Amp extreme 1070 for a little while now but it sags badly so had it propped up, previous case was closed so didn't bother me but have a p400s with a window now so wondered if anyone knows of a UK seller for a GPU support, all the ones i saw seem to be in the US.

Some guy on here used a lego man with his arms straight up propping up the card, it looked ok and did the job, theres a pic somewhere.
