Not too keen on the matt finish, like the shiny look beter.. But, matt doesn't attract as much dust.
Well, 60GB PlayStation 3 console is approximately 6 kg (approximately 13 pounds), 325 mm (W) × 98 mm (H) × 274 (L) mm and the slim is Approx. 290 × 65 × 290 mm and 3.2Kg.
Not sure if its of much use but if you connect it to a Bravia TV via HDMI you can use the TV remote to control the XMB, also when you switch the TV off the PS3 turns off aswell.

We noticed the first time. It's fine to have a thread dedicated to the PS3 slim and have the other one for general conference news.
People are going way overboard with regard to looks.
Are you spending 99.9% of your time looking at the ps3 or the tv ?
If it is quieter than the four or five ps3 80gb i've tried then bloody great, job done.
As long as it's quieter it could be twice the ugliness of the original for all I and I'm going to say for most people to give a damn.

PS3's are loud? I have never heard one that i would call anywhere near "loud".
Don't get this argument on "you never look at the box anyway" etc etc. 99.9% of the time you are looking at the road when driving your car, but you still want a nice looking interior right?

i suppose when you are sitting in it/using it then yes, you would. but a box that sits on the shelf? i could understand if people dont give a damn - i dont.
The four or five i've tried have not been quiet, the fan rev's up to level three or four, which is much louder than my pc. But maybe i've had bad luck.
With regards to your comment of the looks, whilst gaming I laways have both eyes looking at the screen.
However, whilst driving I always have one eye on the road and one eye on my lovely looking car interior.
Lets look at the other apsects other than 'looks'.
Hopefully it should be quieter than the current 80gb version, I've tried four or five 80gb's and returned them due to the fan noise and also 32% less power conusmption is always a good thing.
So, if it is indeed quieter then Sony have sold one more PS3. Although the £250 price tag is still high ^^

Ive had 3, first one was silent, second one was noisy, third one is silent again.
I bet you when you see them in the flesh you will prefer the look of the slim.
Plus with the other few improvements the slim overall is the winner ?

The slim looks fine to be honest after watching the gameradar video. Would look a lot sleeker under my tv stand. Less dust too.

same for me tbh. my 60gb is doing just fine. if i were using it hours on end, day in and day out then id upgrade for the paower saving alone but the truth is i just dont lol.
